We were playing RvS the other day and thought it would be interesting to add a bit of splinter cell to RvS. So we came up with these rules for Spies Versus Mercenaries. Its a very rough draft, but it gets the basic idea across. The main thing right now is finding someway to lock the gamma and the kit restrictions for each team. But besides that, who thinks its an interesting idea?

Sounds interesting but what would be the goal of this game setup? What's different to a normal adversial game, etc...

You just have explained the settings but not the purpose of it ;-)

The gameplay would be mocking the play of Splinter Cell 3, only without all the neet gadgets for the spies, or the crawlspaces upon which the mercs cannot get to.  It would be interesting to see in play.

EXACTLY. Not as well put together. But a nice change in pace from regular adv. Perhaps .7 gamma is to high, i tried .6 and it seems to be more like it. Basically, its just for a change in pace and a fun game where tactics are taken into more consideration because of the imparements of each team.

Confronting what somone mentioned about monitor settings and diff. screens presenting diff default gamma settings-
Whats the difference between different peoples screens and different peoples computer speeds? I play on a 1GHz eMac against all these fools with G5's and that gives them the upper hand. So whats the difference between playing somone with a higher gamma display and playing somone in regular adv with a faster computer? That doesnt stop us from playing RvS - why should it stop us from playing  this?
