I'm thinking that this might be the best one, and should not hurt resale value much:

Macintosh
Power In The Hands Of A Few

I was selling Macs in the early 90's when the PowerPC chip was first introduced in them and we wore a button that said something similar (PowerPC, Power In The Hands Of A Few).  We also wore another one that said "POWER THROUGH IT".  So anyway, what do you guys think about that one?

It will hurt the resale value even more than a more general engraving... because this one will most definitely not be bought by any PC user (and most iPod owners who need a new one or people who consider getting one... are PC users).

Yuk, no iPod of mine is going into the hands of a PC-User!  I'd rather give it away in one of my quizes!  lol

Problem solved... choose whatever engraving you want, I won't care (of the listed ones, don't get any ideas now). Wink

There's no real point to engraving . . they can be personalized in other ways, cases, earbuds ect.

But it's FREE laser engraving!!!  That would cost me like $10 at the local engraving shop.  Wink

It's all a trap by Apple to reduce the resale price of their merchandise, heh.

Actually, the name "Ghost Sniper" was given to me by the other soldiers I served with in the 75th Ranger Regiment.  And since I "earned" the name, I don't mind using it in other parts of my life, although I doubt I'll brand an iPod with it.

Nope, I was given that name about 10 years before Ghost Recon hit the market.

Yes, it is a Beatles Song, "In My Life".  Very good, BFG.  You Bloody Brits are lucky you had the Beatles.  It's the only thing that kept me from wiping out your little island for all that shit you guys pulled on America in the late 1700's.  Wink

In that case, I would go with the Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens.  It gives you decent macro functionality (although not 1:1 life size), has great wide-angle abilities on the low end of the focal length, and good zoom on the high end (17-85mm is equivilant to a 27-136mm lens on the 1.6x Crop Factor Canon EOS 20D).  It will take good portraits at the high end zoom, will take great landscape and building shots as well as indoor room shots at the low end zoom, plus it has Image Stabilization that will help you with hand-held shots.  It was the first lens I bought with my 20D and I really liked it.  The only reason I upgraded lenses was to get some better, although much more expensive, low-light lenses in the f/1.4 and f/2.8 range.  Can't go wrong with that little lens.  By the way, it is an "EF-S" lens, which means it can ONLY be used on the EOS 20D and the Canon Digital Rebel.  It won't work on any film SLR or any of Canon's other Digital SLR's because of the way it's designed.  Only those two Canon cameras are like that, but since they are the most popular cameras Canon makes, it shouldn't be much of a problem in the future if you want to upgrade.

Okay, I just bought my 60GB Apple iPod from the Apple Online Store and I went with this:

Apple Computer
Think Different

I figure that will give me the best resale value, plus it was an ad campaign I actually liked from Apple (I have the Amelia Earhart Think Different Poster hanging in my daughter's bedroom).

Why Apple 'Computer'? It looks kind of stupid... the slogan is 'Apple - Think different.', not 'Apple Computer - Think different'. And it's not a computer (iMac, G5, etc), it's an iPod.

Cause damnit, the name of the company is APPLE COMPUTER, INC!  Wink

And it wasn't "Apple - Think different".  It just had a little Apple Logo and said "Think Different."  I know, I just looked at my daughter's poster!  lol
