2v2 Battle tourny

Well, i had an idea to create some morale in the RvS community because i know most of us here play rvs.  So the idea is to enable people to get to know others that live around them.  So... i  was thinking that you have to select one other person that lives in your state (usa) and for the people over seas you will select a person from your country, since there are more usa players we will just go by states, for example.  I live in Ohio usa, so would pick some else that lives in my state to make a two man team, (Team Ohio).  If there are multiple teams in a state or country simply make (Team Ohio-2).  And same for euro's and other parts of the world, they would select from countries (Team Italy), (Team Normay) etc...

I just thought id throw this out there and see how the community would respond to it, so give me your thoughts and maybe we cab get a cool tourny going while meeting new people that live around you.

Great idea Mesa,
  However, people need to know you're in a team for a specific state/country...
- How about putting 'Team - ____' on your info (for premium members) and in the 'real name' section  for non-premium members.
  Just to clarify, would this become a seperate ladder, or just a fun few games?

wow thanks for your responces guys, you all seem excited and willing to give this a shot.  

And as far as finding some in your city/state/country.  It was really just something to get people to meet someone new or learn more about people that you know that live around you, so if there is someone is close to you  "just across the border" thats fine with me, but please try to do your best to get with people that you dont know that well, thats what this is all about.  I know everyone wants to get with firends or trying to pick the 'better' player so you will have a good team.  I want this to be fun, hell i'll find the worse rvs player in ohio to set an example...well i guess that would be gemini..lol jk. So this might take a little time to set up so start searching and posting in forums for people that live near you (Damn*/Bts forums are great places).

Also, we have came up with a name "BTs World 2v2 Tourney", Bts Bombastic has offered to write some scrpit on the bts site were teams can post clan battles and other team info.  i then will be the lead admin, and ill probably ask a few other guys to be admins as well.  So, hopefully this might be a similar to how Damn* sets up the battle league.  So people can register on the Bts site and in their profile people can list their location.

So, this is still in the air a bit, it might take a little time to get set up.  If anyone has any question or suggestions and would like to offer their help in setting this up please contact me.

Out of interest was there a reason to not do this under the DBL considering 99% are allready signed up, players are registered and ladder/cb submission is all in place?

Hey BFG, yeah i dunno, bomb had offered to start something, so i would never turn down something when someone is willing to write some script and put in some hard work.  Though im open to start this in Damn*.  Maybe post something in the Bts admin forum and we can talk about it there.  You, Bomb and i can discuss where we can go with this.

One more rule, you cant pick anyone that is in the same clan that you are in.  This is about meeting new people, sorry id didnt mention that before.  AFter reading weak's and nik's post i knew i forgot something.  This is nothing against these people, beacuse we all know if clans like cO, bbs, dr., six...etc were on the same team it would not justifiy what this tourney is all about, so please try your best to find someone that lives close to you and not in the same clan.
