Well it explains why I crave the red mist and the sound of bullets ripping through a human chest cavity.

Well actually.....
I read an article about a woman professor at MIT who researched 3-D video gaming to find out just how much damage these 3-D shooters were causing to kids minds. The results were quite different than she expected.
Kids (and adults) that play 3-D shooters actually develop a keener sense of surroundings (i.e.)... obviously hand-eye coordination is improved - also greatly improved, (by 50% or greater) is spatial awareness and periphreal awareness - also multi-tasking abilities and thinking on multiple levels - for example..... whilst in a game you are trying to reach the objective, while trying to not get killed by enemy that comes in from all sides, and at the same time you are protecting your team mates...
These improvements translated to everyday real life situations such as driving a vehicle. The test subjects that were 3-D gamers were much more astute and attentive drivers by 60-70% - able to visually calculate many more things at one time such as children running out from behind parked cars and intersection activity.
The woman never bitched at her kid for playing RS again.....

If anything bad is to be said about video games, it's that they eat up some much goddamned HD space, particulary if you own a 10 GB HD...like me.

10GB? OMG, I fill 10GB of Hard Drive space up nearly every other day.
