Because it got abused. People rather kept playing the demo for months instead of buying the full game, and never even had the intention of doing so. Aspyr then decided to remove the MP demo completely but Evill was able to get the deal that Premium members still have the possibility to try it before buying the retail version.

Lies, Civic challenged him and darred him to take it off for non-premium.
And Evill took the challenge and made it not possible for non-premiums to play it. And then he banned Civic for 30 min.
