Microsoft (where the queers are)

« on: November 21, 2005, 04:37:33 am »

Yo,

   I'm using iTunes 6.0.1 on my PC and for the last 2 weeks or so I've been having issues whenever I try to use the radio stations.  I can listen to a station for about 15 seconds then it constantly tries to rebuff.  I've never had an issue before with it, and it isn't only on 1 station, its on all the fuckers.  Any ideas on how to fix?  I'm getting sick of listening to the same 14 Whitesnake songs in my library....

Get more music... or better, get a Mac. Everything's working fine here.

And btw, check out Last.fm for the best online radio service.

If I had a choice I'd have a mac, but for now I'm stuck with the PC.

Golo generally Ive found that it is an internet connection rate that screws with the rebuffering.

Is there not a prefrence to change rebuffering rate? - or something about prebuffering.

Hmm, seems to be the only option regarding that.

Check out the Apple support forums, I dug up this reply:

Quote
Let's check a couple settings inside iTunes and see if they help. Open iTunes Preferences -> Advanced tab -> General tab -> try changing the "Streaming Buffer Size" to a different setting & try the radio again.

Also check QuickTime's Control Panel:
* exit iTunes
* open Windows Control Panel -> Quicktime entry
* uh-oh - I'm on my Mac, and I don't recall the new PC layout for this setting...
* OK, I think there is a "Streaming" tab in the QT panel, and in there set your line speed at or even just below your ISP's advertised download rate for your connection.
* try iTunes Radio again.

Do you Norton Internet Security running? Try disabling the "Internet Security" firewall for a few minutes. Better?

That's all I got. Hope that works.
