Jeez... that thing's 5 year old, but surprisingly it had ADC already. Hmm... you'd need quite some additional hardware to be able to use it as standalone TV monitor. I'm not gonna look all the stuff together now... I already know that you'd be better off with just buying a real one instead, particularly moneywise.

The only way you could use this CRT monster to watch TV is with it being connected to a Mac. And for that you need for example EyeTV which costs some money also, heh.

Can't you get good TVs for little money as mexican? Grin Wink

i hear you civic, i certainly dont aim for this to cost more than its worth.

However, i have the monitor.... here's what I'm thinking....

ADC monitor==>ADC to DVI adapter===>DVI to VGA adapter===> http://reviews.cnet.com/AVerMedia_TVBox_9/4505-9332_7-30683009.html?tag=txt

I'll see if i can get one of these things on ebay cheap.  Worth a shot. If I can get it for near 50 bucks i'll do it.  I already have some old JBL creature speakers i can hookup to it... would be nice... an apple TV for 50 bucks... besides, the 'geek' factor alone justifies the cost.

thanks for editing your message just for this.... i COULD get some mexicans to just steal your TV... but i'll settle for your free advice.

All these adapters cost money... and even if you have them already, they pretty much ruin the quality. Besides the monitor having a horrible, five years old, refresh rate and resolution. You don't really want to watch TV on that.

We just got ourselves a second TV... a nice 21" Panasonic for 150 bucks.

Crikey weak you don't want to watch TV on that, just as civic said your going to get horrible quality with those connections not to mention the refresh and res.

If u really wanted somthing looking like that - id do a custom build jobby - and fit a traditional TV screen into the apple display... so u get yourself a nice apple looking TV Wink

Just get an eyetv, they are pretty cheap and small.

But if you want to use adapters, like everyone said; no-point. Then it's just easier and probably cheaper to get a TV instead.
