My internet is probably the slowest of anyone on GR. It's like I have 55.99999K. It's quite ridiculous when the only cable company in your area charges these insane prices for shitty speeds. Fucking monopolies. It's like 49.99 a month. (US)

I've been on my own connection for a year or so, an 8mb line.....which I do pay for myself.

and Ethion, when I did use the university connection, I had the whole 10mb line for myselfs, because 1. The office had a full 10mb connection, 2. I was alone, or with Buddha when it was used for gaming.

While we're at it are people talking about theoretical ul/dl speeds, or actual real life performance... because if its real life i get a top out of 118kb dl and about 4kb ul!

Ive just noticed while downloading some stuff (haha 'stuff' .. no its not porn. no its not warz, no its not music, no mind your own business) that my ISP seem to have finally upgraded my connection...   Rather than maxing out at Aprox 110kbs i've just managed to get a Peaked DL speed of 260kbs  ... No don't laugh at me, thats actually good! Wink

 i believe that deserves a little dance oh yes!!  Dancing banana

Try rebooting your modem, and it might go even faster o.o

Mhahaha Holy MooCow, it just hit 480kbps, im in heaven! Cheesy haven't tried rebooting the modem but i'll have to try it!...  will have to test out and see if the Upload speed has improved at all, but im not holding my breath! Wink
