Drugs are the main reason I don't trust a word the U.S. Government sais... The whole ecstasy act "R.A.V.E. ACT" made me so mad.  Every single thing the U.S. Government claimed about ecstasy turned out completely wrong and yet, they made it sound so bad.  Then they refused to show the people the truth, until just last year in the form of a 60 Minute special narrated by Peter Jennings.  Not to turn this into an arguement about Ecstasy, but I was just saying, the U.S. Government is treating its people like sheep who follow their command.

just to add on to *NADS Lo$eMoney comment.

i blame society. statistics agree.

there are few drugs i haven't used, and rarely do i try something just once. 95% of the time i have a good experience. on the rare occasion something goes wrong, it is lack of education on the drug i'm taking or an unfortunate incident unrelated to the drug itself.

the united states has the absolute worst policy which promotes miseducation and threats, which only generates more curiosity and attraction to the "bad boy forbidden lifestyle" image in young people. they've basically turned drug use into a special clique in which to become a member all you have to do is eat a pill or smoke a leaf...and with all the repression in this society, even the slightest sense of social inferiority would compel a young person to get involved just for the sake of being a part of something exclusive. in actuality, drugs are nothing more then a passtime, or hobby...those who say otherwise are misusing them or are just plain ignorant....drugs would not create a lifestyle if they were socially accepted.

support the european movement to adopt a policy of Harm Reduction, rather then wasted attempts at prevention.

i hate to say it, but if drugs were legalized, i have a feeling there would be a mini modern day renaissance. think of all the untapped creativity, and wasted money that would suddenly be freed. any economy would benefit.

Unfortunately/fortunately, that will never happen, as the government would never admit it was wrong about something they've demonized for 50+ years. Plus, think of all the money they've spent on the war against drugs, and how many drug cartels we've assassinated. Just ain't gonna happen.
