Looking for a TV tuner for my G5. I don't know what connection type is best, but I have free PCI, USB, and firewire. Not looking for HD or any other expensive such things, but a essentials... decent quality TV tuner.

Firewire -- and go have a look at the Elgato systems, there is a great range from your bog standard, to digital, HD, etc etc (good mac support) and i hear very good things about then (was thinking of investing)

More specifically BFG, the box will be used with basic cable. Their pricing seems a bit steep for such basic features... let's take a gander here... AlchemyTV DVR (Mac)? (http://www.mostlydigital.ca/detail.php?recordID=H31698)

AlchemyTV DVR is a great card for a great price.
I got one in my G5... it has several input types and when going full screen on 1280x1024 and you sit a few feet from your screen its like watching on a regular TV almost no distortion.

They also have great support:
My card stopped working one day and I sent em a mail to ask what to do, 2hrs later I allrdy had a response from them telling me to test some stuff.
I told em it didn't work and they sent me another mail to get my address so they could sent me a new copy Smiley

I'm gonna be getting it soon. I always worry about anything external so the AlchemyTV DVR sounds perfect.
