For those who don't follow iGame forums: The latest.

Im pretty sure they are chopping or outright hacking an old code that was written for RS.
Fact is, won't run..won't work.
(two users have recently contacted me with the bad news-after trying to get it, or similar versions of it, to work)--I wouldnt gamble my entire paycheck, but i THINK they are testing what iGame is claiming to be as their anti cheat.. Without their permission, I will not be supplying their names, so don't challenge that.

Its not a checksum as is PB, and thats whats important here..

The cheats used today are a small text file, that can be placed anywhere in the user drive, and without a checksum specific enough to notice a 1k differential in the system file, it will NEVER work. Problem is, it would call out user changed variables such as gamma, .ini tweaks(LEGAL) for users of lower end systems to get the game to run on their 800mghtz machine, and perhaps mods installed...so...

For it to work correctly, it has to read the contents of users game/system folder, and that one to my knowledge does not.

the even balance guys told me (wayyy back in april) as did Scott, that the problem was two fold...Mainly that they RVS community for mac wasn't large enough for them to recode it for the game, and something to do with how the serials are registered or tracked...(can't remember specifics-it's been a while)
Ok, maybe three-fold--also something to do with the way pcs use DLL's (compared to macs non-use of them..(again, im ballparking here, I dont remember the specifics) other than the fact they both confirmed what the other was saying...basically that it won't be happening anytime soon.

And yes, i realize that some mac games use PB quite well, referencing a massive DB of user serials, and GUIDS. I'm not up enough to know what problems the mac system introduces here. For example the Call of Duty PB does issue some kicks/bans for mac specific files (various missing .exe, mismatched bmps, and missing DLLS) but as I'm not a coder and don't understand the subtleties, I am giving the basic version of what i was told by guys who understand better than I, so i have no interest (NONE) in arguing the correctness/incorrectness of any of the points i have made here..I am merely relaying what i have been told by EvenBalance and Scott. For now, he still gets my $50. I support mac gaming.

If you want to thank two of the players most PUBLICLY responsible (although not totally) for helping to FUCK the games and utterly destroy the trust between even friends...drop a line to Leper and *AGT*Mike TOO (witnessed by MANY in the Bar & Grill) and thank them for their contributions for releasing and passing around the console-codes for what is being used. And for those who are currently **cough** testing....be proud that you ain't got the balls to come to the battle clean. And if I see anyone on my list posting or ranting about the 'fucking cheaters' publically, i ABSOLUTELY will call you on it...publically...perhaps with taped proof...so careful. AND further, if i tape a cheater (multiple, provable examples) and their team participates in the DBL, Mauti will get a copy as well..for his own consideration.

As for myself and my attitude toward the current spate of cheating..the new hack is harder to detect, but not impossible. I can accurately spot all three versions of the no-recoils. (yes, even the one that kicks)
A camcorder and comparison to users NOT using it, makes even the new one BLATANTLY apparent)- so, lurkers following the post beware. I am compiling a list for my own personal use merely so I know who to respect, and who to feel pity for. .
The pity list is growing daily...sadly. I have been shocked and dismayed to see even some well known, well-liked players using it. This currrent list includes a current clan leader and past DBL participants.
Don't ask for the list or the tapes. You won't get either.

I do not make a conclusion untill i have taped the offender with side by side comparison with another player using same gun config four times consecutively. If even once in the four tapings, the tape has no tale to tell, i give that player a clean slate, for the time being, and give props for style and ability and improvement. I do this because WAY too many times, good clean players are accused, and I needed to know for myself. Most of the good ones are clean. And I'll never tell you if you are on the list..unless i go public, and if i do..it will be OBVIOUS to anyone who sees the tape..I will not include 'IFFY" examples..those get the benefit of the doubt. IF this sounds extreme, it is..I was forced.

I don't tape that much right now..i just play, but if theres a question, the camcorder comes out..
