I know vapor talked to advantage, and that didn't work, so I talked to him too tonight.  After being very evasive he said he'd unban you as well. So i hope that is true.

hehe thanks loud but I don't need it cause I have figured out why i was banned... See GR kept disconnecting and I kept ressing reconnect fst which is spamming but I am only banned for a week so dont worry about it. Thanks for support anyways

Hi all.
You guys prolly don't know who I am but I found your msg board while looking for stuff about Scott on Google.com. While searching today I first learned of GameScout and all I can think is "F*ck, yeah!"

We (DOH) are a Q2 Clan that plays on GR, we've been around for about a year and we are all pretty close friends now, even went to the desert to blow shit up... anyway...

Evill seems to be a smart computer guy and i have much respect for the fact that he made the GR service, but like _most_ computer geeks, he has inherent flaws in socializing with other people. He is very closed minded and has a strong unwillingness to listen to any (even rational) disscusion, and he CAN NOT be wrong. (these apply to many computer geeks, myself included, but some reach a level of realization and confront thier flaws head on, rather than be a total jerk when some one disagrees and go and ban them from your precious little gameing network, but I digress ;P)

Also (as far as we know, we could be wrong) the admins seem to mostly be (I don't want to start a flame war so I'll say it nicely) "Yes-Men." So they are basicly of little value except as snitches.

I recently had a disscusion against 4 different people at one time regarding hotline vs. napster.
It lasted about 2 hours and mostly ended with them trying to make fun of me.

now for the point.

GR is fine if all you want to do is play games, but for chat, it is a very opressive environment, thier slogan seems to be "If you don't agree you had best STFU." During my argument/disscusion there were several people who supported me privatly, but obviously did want to say anything out of fear.

Anyway, I have heard and been told on many occasions "if you don't like it make your own" well I think support GameScout in any way possible is what I, and my clan, will be doing in the future.

Yes, I agree with bitchkiller, that like every computer geek they praise themselves and don't care what other people have to say because they (think) that they are ALWAYS right about EVERYTHING. No matter what you try to say to any of them, especially evill, if they disagree the about your comment that you better STFU before you get banned because if you keep argueing your point then you will be banned.

Very much like a few weeks ago, when I found out that Diablo, who I might add is a very good friend of mine, got banned from GR for now reason. Well, let me just say that advantage is a waste of typing trying to talk to him because he just says yes to whatever he says but do you think that worthless piece of crap actually does anything about it, no! So when I went to Evill about diablo I asked Evill why diablo is banned and I told Evill that diablo is sorry for whatever he has done (which we aren't totally sure what he has done). And this is what Evill proceded to say to me, "you will keep your mouth shut if you know what is best for you." Now of course, if anyone of you know who I really am you know I am not going to shut my mouth now, that has only pissed me off more then I already am. So I fought with him some more till he kicked me off GR for a half hour.

A couple weeks later, I was having my own little troubles and I needed some assistence from our computer geek "friend" Evill. But as soon as I asked Evill a question right away he says STFU. So now not only do I have a problem I now want to beat the shit out of Evill. Yes, I am grateful for him making GR but everyone will agree with me that Evill is a conceited computer geek.  So I start to get into a little arguement with Evill and I told him that he has a problem because he thinks he is so great just because he created GR but yet when people have problems he won't help you for shit. Just like if you need him for something and you didn't want to talk in the public chat, you can't private message him because he has everyone blocked, now tell me what the hell kind of adminastrator is that??? So after my little fight with Evill I ended getting banned by him for a week. Which I didn't take over to well.

After I got banned I was trying to figure out what he does to stop you from creating a new account, till it hit me about everyone's IP address. Ok you guys know when you create and account on GR that when it sends the account info to your email that it shows you IP address. Well, he bans you using your IP. He puts you IP address on the GR list of  "banned people" so when you try to get on GR your IP comes up and you can't. There is no way you can bypass it because you always have the same IP address, it never changes, nor can you change it.

All of this pisses me off, especially about Evill and his social skills (which are horrible I might add). So I thought I should just give you my little side to all of this.

I do not have a static IP address.  It changes every time I connect.  Are you sure he doesn't just ban your user number?  Or maybe that is the reason that I have never been banned

And one other interesting thing.  Amazingly, not all of the admins are anti-social.  I talked to one who was apparently honest.  He allowed private messages, and his name was D Dylbeano.  He said quite simply that he did not have the authority to ban or unban, only make recommendations.  So I think Evill is unfortunately the only way to get someone unbanned.  

And one further thing--Diablo, have you tried to create a new account, perhaps using a different email address?  I don't know if that would work, but it is certainly worth a try.

GR doesn't ban your IP address because when Zomar got banned he got cable with a totaly new IP address. I think it is may the Mac ID number ot network card ID (so you would forced to buy a new mac/network card to get unbanned) But I don't know what GR really does to ban you.

True... it has to do something with your mac id or something like that. I know you can't create a new account either, because when I got banned for a week, I tried creating a new account and that didn't work and I used a new email address for the account. Also, I know it's not a hidden file because when I got banned I reinstalled software on my comp and it still didn't let me on GR. It must have something to do with your mac ID.

GR has a list of banned accounts, and anyone who tries to log into one of those accounts is banned by their IP and their MAC address (also known as the hardware address of your ethernet card). If anyone of those banned IPs or MAC addresses tries to log into an account that hasn't been banned, that account is also banned.

GR bans by IP, MAC address and an invisible file in the boot sector of your hard drive. So you would need to reformat your hard drive, get a new ethernet card and a new ISP to get back on GR.
