Okay, the April Quiz topic will be on World War II. Also, there will be a new quiz format...3 quiz sections plus a bonus question. Each quiz section will consist of 3 questions, with a one week delay between sections. The bonus question will be posted after all 3 sections have been successfully answered. There will be a prize for each of the 3 sections, for the person who wins the most sections (with a tie-breaker question if needed), and a prize for the person who answers the bonus question correctly. The first section of the April Quiz will be posted on April 1.

Any ideas on what the prizes should be? There will be 5 prizes awarded, so make sure the value adds up to the $50 to $75 range of past prizes. Could be a $15 iTunes Gift Certificate for each prize (that would total $75), or even $15 in cash. Any ideas from anybody out there?

i say you make it kind of like the battle league with brackets. no second chances to submit questions, if you get one wrong you're out. if you get them right you move to the next three. that'd weed out a good amount of them, and then if there's more then one left by the end, post the date and time of when you'll be posting the last question so everyone can be on at the same time.

i say you make it kind of like the battle league with brackets. no second chances to submit questions, if you get one wrong you're out. if you get them right you move to the next three. that'd weed out a good amount of them, and then if there's more then one left by the end, post the date and time of when you'll be posting the last question so everyone can be on at the same time.

A good idea is to post a date and time that you will put up the quiz about a week before so everyone has fair time to plan etc. Plus some of us are just too lazy to check the forum all the time.

Well, I've already announced that the first section of the April Quiz will be posted on April 1 (which is a Friday). Since all the students bitched about me starting quizes during the day, I will probably post the quiz around 7 pm U.S. Central Standard Time. That should make Typhy happy, and also allow the Europeans to participate (albeit at around 1 am their time). So now you know the date and approximate time the first section of the quiz will be posted. As I will be posting one section each week, you will get the 2nd section of the quiz the following Friday at about the same time.[/size] |
