RULES OF POSTING ON BULLETIN BOARDS!

Attention all! ?I am writing this in many colors to get your attention!


I was away from this BB for 4 days. ?Typically that is not a problem, but this time when I came back I was quite upset. ?You all, Mauti is paying good money and does a lot of hard work to maintain this BB, and lately I think it is gettting trashed. ?You are making the same arguements repetitively and cluttering up the BB with threads and posts even more worthless than my 180some. ?

So I'd like to present the following rules of polite BB use:

1. ?If there is already a thread about a topic, post your message to that thread instead of creating a new one. ?When I came back there were ten (10!) threads that all had something to do with GR being up or down.

2. ?Do not post the same message twice.

3. ?If you want to make a really personal attack on someone, do it in a private message.

4. ?Don't always use the same bland text fonts and such. ?Again Mauti went to great lengths to make this BB have lots of cool features. ?It bugs me when someone makes a 3page posting that is all one paragraph and is black! ?Use some variety people! ?Why do you think those cool smileys ? are there? ?They are not there just to make the "post message" screen pretty!

5. ?If you want to speak in a foreign language, please translate it for the rest of us.

6. ?Don't bash people for bad grammar. ?Many of us are new to the English language (or whatever other language we are posting in)

7.  Think through what you are saying!  Don't make some stupid post you will regret later!  But if you do, dont' forget the modify button!  This posting took 5 tries to make it right!

I realize that I have been guilty of some of these mistakes myself, but please you all, for the good of this wonderful thing, please respect the BB by following these rules.

Also please feel free to add your own suggestions.

Loud, i agree with not spamming the bb because that's just rude. However, quit bitchin soo much about the features and such.  If i wanna use the features, then i will, but there's no "rule" to use the features.  u sounded worse than my mom in your last post

The idea was just to get people to observe some general rules.  I doubt your Mom could care less about what color the text is, but I wanted to make it clear that it can be hard to read when its all black and boring!

Spaz, Loud has right. In the last view days many guys posted useless messages and spammed the forum in some way. I only didnt say anything because I think  since GR is up again many of those spammers will play R6 or RS again instead of wasting their time to post spam. If spam was really  bad I deleted it. (113 messages during GR was down) Well keep posting and playing

Well, I'm glad someone agreed with me.  I guess I did overreact a bit too, but I did mention that I was sorry for the spamming that I had done.  I just hope that in the future we can make this BB a little better---through the things I described above.

I won't complain any more, but I'd like to know, do you think these are a reasonable set of rules?

i didn't say anything about spam. spam = bad. all i was saying was, loud was bitching about people posting stupid things. i remember seeing loud conducting a conversation with cd on this bb. OMG THEY ARE ALL AGAINST US! WE ARE ALL BEING BANNED ....  there were many threads entitled "banned" or something to that effect. it may have seemed like a big deal to those who were banned, but frankly, no one else really cared. gr being down on the other hand, affected all of us. i just resent louds coming and telling us what to do. correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of a bb to post stuff? i know that spam isn't wanted, but just talking about gr being down?

Hahaha! ?As I said---I know I've made some mistakes with this too, I just thought maybe in the future we could all avoid them.

And I agree the colors are stupid, I just wanted you all to make your messages easier to read.

there's something kinda fun about posting endless smileys and worthless messages for everyone to read.
