It doesn't appear that AA 2.3 will be coming to the mac.

The PC version is at release candidate and the linux version has started beta testing but there is no sign of a Mac version. The Dev's have not said anything official but it doesn't look good.

And this is suppose to be surprising to us? If the current version of AA isnt avalible to the Mac then why would the next version. As soon as the Gamespy SDK is reasonably price we will see AA again. And that isnt happening anytime soon.

I think there were mac companies looking into a alternative SDK, but I doubt that will help beyond mac---> mac. How long until Gamespy dies? That's when we will get the main SDKs again.

AAO 2.3 was released today for the PC and Linux clients. No Mac version in sight.

Un-freaking believable. No really, completely unfreaking bloody believable. after all that the solution was that simple... Correct me if im wrong but is 2.3 not the Version with the Strykers that can be driven around?

No, vehicles cant be driven yet. The new maps are incredible. Urban Assult is insane. Its a very small CQB map and its the closest thing ive seen to RS gameplay in a long while. Its fast, its intense and most of all its fun as hell.

A mod just (yesterday evening) announced the release of 2.3 for mac on the official AA forum. The files just need to be placed on the mirrors and we can start playing on good servers again.  clapping hands clapping hands clapping hands

Unfortunately, after about an hour and a half of messing with files/downloads/dmg's/bz2's/tar's, etc... I have given up, and am downloading the full version of 2.3


Why don't they ever beta test their MojoPatches?

Then it tells me to do a fresh install.

I did a fresh install, and I get the SAME DAMN ERROR MESSAGE.

I've always just deleted the old version and installed the complete new version fresh.  It's never given me any problems like that.

Ahhhhhh....I just finished several hours on AA 2.3 for Mac.  What a wonderful feeling to be home again.  As always, good luck catching me on GameRanger until another update that comes late for Mac.  Wink
