Tonsils are actually useful yet so many people get them removed.  They obviously are in the body for a reason, not to get removed either.

Reading from your own link about Tonsils it says:

They are a Lymph Node meaning:

That's why when you go to the doctors they feel the sides of your throat, if it's puffy or larger then that means your body is fighting off infection.  Without the tonsils that means that there is no place to put the excess lymphocytes so they have to go elsewhere.

Actually, the doctor stressed to me that death is definitely a possibility from this surgery in people my age.  But hey, I can't die...that would leave conservatives voiceless on this forum!!![/size]

Isn't that a little difficult to say considering Bush's invading Afghanistan, managing to completely fail to capture or disable Al-Quieda - Bin laden free (so fortunate as he is a close family friend) and Iraq blown to pieces, Insurgents killing soldiers and civilians every day, america quietly pumping oil out and pumping government money in to its own business's to 'rebuild' iraq... ...

Well, how about Clinton sending me, personally and a lot of my other Ranger buddies, into a shit hole in the Balkans while the rest of Europe wouldn't do anything about their own problem right in their back yard?  Of course there is also Somalia, Haiti, all the other crap in the Balkans, and then for the really BAD stuff he just lobs a few cruise missiles over the fence...real brite guy.
