Homeworld 2

A very different game, in that it's an RTS in space. So, fully 3d, can not only send units on the 2d plane but also above and below your enemy. Camera controls are a bit hard to learn at first and it takes some getting used to, but once you do it is amazingly fun. Very intense. Single player is a bit hard to understand if you havent played Homeworld 1 (which i havent) but in the case of this game i dont believe storyline is critical to the game. The graphics and combat more than make up for it. Amassing a very large fleet and watching it kick the crap out of an enemy force is quite a spectacle. Player Vs CPU is very enjoyable as well, moreso than single player.
Anyway, if nothing else, head over to here:
http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=18375
and pick up the demo. Two thumbs up from me.

lol, um...."a day late and a dollar short"
meaning that you already missed the HW2 craze. About a month ago you could find at least 3-5 games of HW2 goin, now there hard to come by and everyone has moved on to that other RTS, the name escapes me now.

Pff, doesnt change the face that it's an enjoyable game, and if people havent seen it, then why not give em a link?
And something tells me that it's probably Rise of Nations that took the spotlight.

Speaking about games already passing by, and also speaking about dark sides of gaming, damn Halo 2 seems to die down fast. Console gamers switch around so much.
...sure off topic...but also somehow on topic...

Rise of Nations is sweet, but not all that different from Age of Empires.

How would you rate Rise of Nations to Command and Conquer:Generals, Homeworld2, Age of Empires and other RTS games?

I don't know, I think it's a on and off between GhR 2 and Halo 2.

I wouldn't worry yet, there is still plenty of time for them to change their minds, RvS took a while to confirm...

Sal, if Half Life 2 makes it, so will GhR2, if it doesn't no dice....

Actually, I just played rise of nations through a solo game, and the present day shit is sweet. The bombers that just keep going back for more, and return to base when they need to. It seems like its a little like c+c:g but it runs better, and allows you to build your civilization up from the ground floor. sweet.
