it's ridiculous... it loads, doesn't load, it loads, doesn't load and so on... wtf?!

it's either "Host 'dynamic2.in.gamespy.com' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"

or

"Host 'dynamic5.in.gamespy.com' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server"

my guess is that there is something wrong configured... permission-wise probably. :-/

Of course he is pissed me too, especially because we don't really know what's going on and the explanation why they suddenly disallow CGI just plain sucks - "security reasons" the last 3 years not a single issue due perl scripts and then this....

Oh well the best thing came today I got a techsupport reply on a request from 11th november, one month ago. Of course they say they are sorry but 1 month return time uhu. In the last 3 years I had a response time from 12 - 24 hours, that's fine, then within the last 3 months it grew to 3 business days and now 1 month!? It seems since IGN and GameSpy merged, they try to save personal and of course the sites who make less revenue have will feel this shortage first.

Ok enough rant, because for 3 years I really loved GameSpy but in the next days and weeks I probably have no other choice than to move on.

ps.: does have anyone here luck to view the VBS1 thread in the Cocobolo section, here it always times out, as all threads in Coco's section do! Very strange.

Hum, well here's to hoping it stays up for longer than it has in the past.  Though i think ive said that before...erm...hm.

Why move now, once the site is working properly again? Im pretty confident that they put safeguards in place so this wont happen again, or at least anytime soon. We had no problems for what?....4.5 years?

it might work again... but the problem is the mainsite where perl and some other scripts are not allowed anymore. they are necessary for several important parts of the site and after this whole months long fiasco i wouldn't rely on gamespy ever again anyways.
