True... although I have bought most of my songs.  The ones that I don't listen to are ones that I:
1) bought and didn't like
2) have over-listened
3) bought a long time ago, dont listen to anymore, but have put in my itunes for the sole purpose of making my library bigger

What Sin said.  You people are sick =)

Though, i guess if you have a -really- long road-trip ahead of you, it could come in handy?

Ok, so here's a question for you all, what song is most listened to?  (Dont necessarily need to give the song name, just the # of times youve listened to whatever song)

Right now: 462 songs 1.2 days I've probably only had about 2000 songs all time on any computer I've had, I wasn't really a music fan until the age of like 13.

Hrm, most listened to... over my lifetime, I've listened to more Queen than anything else, although no specific song that I recall. Recently, say, over the last six months to a year, I've been in the habit of manually choosing a specific song or two when I boot Audion, before letting it go to random play. Some of the favorites I've listened to in that way are Time Chill, The Incredible Singing Robot (both remixes from Chrono Trigger), Metal Gear May Cry, and You're My Treasure by I've. When I'm in a musical phase, I'll listen to any of those around a dozen times a day.

i ued to be like that till i put them all in case logic cd sleeves and put them in a dj cd coffin.. now they are all in a case that is 4ft tall and 2.5ft wide... ( 1 cd jewcase (the plasic box it comes in) = 3-5 cd sleeves.. depending on wether you have cd's on both side of the cd sleeve or onlky on one. and how thick the booklet is)

I had to check LESS THAN 1,000 because the choice NONE wasn't on there!

When I burn CDs that I own or copy music to and from my computer I always do it in AIFF (the same file quality that is on a store bought CD).  Sure it takes up a lot more space, but it just sounds better when I am blasting it out of a 1,140-WATT Mach 1000 factory-installed audio system in a Ford Mustang.

GS, if you buy any cd that you own from the store, then why would you need to burn it?

GS, if you buy any cd that you own from the store, then why would you need to burn it?

I like to make my own custom CD's.  In other words, I might like only one song on a certain album, so I'll take it, along with some other songs from various artists I like, and burn just the good songs onto one CD, but I do it in AIFF format so each song sounds just as good as the original.

I have never downloaded a single song off of the internet....but I do often buy iTunes Gift Certificates for winners of my quizes.

And it ALMOST sounds like you are insinuating I might illegally download music.  I have to ask you, why would I do that when I can fork out the coin for the real thing???

Have you ever done a listen test using uncompressed audio (that is, AIFF) vs. very high-quality MP3? I now own headphones good enough that I can hear the difference between 128 Kbps and 160 Kbps MP3s, but I don't think they're good enough to discern between CD audio and highest-quality VBR MP3s, or for that matter, 320 Kbps MP3s. You may want to give it a try. If you can't hear the difference, there's no difference except more songs on a CD. : D

Dell:  644 Songs, 2 days, 3.53 GBs

iMac  422 Songs, 1 Day, 3 Hours, 2.18 GBs

Most Played: From Creation - Thievery Corporation (it's track on one th "Sleep" playlist Cheesy)

Most of my music is on CD's as I just don't have the HD space or desire to rip everything. I have, as a conservative estimate, somewhere between 400-500 CD's.

Recently Added a pair of Sony 10" floorstanders to my computer/home theater system. The JBL sats were just too directional for music, for too small of a sweet spot. Putting out about 750 watts through that.

And I'm sorry to say that GS beats me in wattage in my car, though barely. I'm putting out 560 continuous watts through 4 Infinity speakers and 3 MTX subs, and this is in an extra cab Ranger mind you. Ph34r my bass.
