I'm gaining more respect for Eminem of late. No arguing his ability, but he seems to have grown out of the phase where he went for seemingly random homophobia and mysogyny and now has put his talent to meaningful not vacantly offensive material. Basically now that he has the fame he doesn't have to promote himself through shock, he can work outside the "what will sell" incentive.

Ive got pretty much every Eminem song. Some people say "Fuck Rap" and "Fuck Eminem" and call him different names but what they dont understand is that his lyrics mean something. My brother who is dead Punk and Rock likes Eminem just cause his lyrics  mean something rather then just the usual Fuck the cops lyrics. The word rap is thrown around. Some "rap" is different then others. Tupac and Eminem are two rappers that I have found to have lyrics that actually mean something. Alot of other rapper's lyrics dont mean anything and its just about the regular rap topics of bitches, weed, and hos. Although these songs dont appeal to me, ones that have good, solid beats with bass that my car will play loud and proud, do. All im saying is that if you think Eminem is just another stereotypical rapper, you are completely wrong. If you dont believe DL songs and listen to them, try "Sing for the Moment". Dont post here thing like SK has "Fuck Eminem" if u havent even listened to more then 1 song. Give the man some credit FFS.

U got to give credit where credit is due. - Id be the first to put my hands in the air and say im not exactly a fan of 'rap' - but then again i have a lot of it (more old stuff) and a good chunk of Eminems stuff and well...the vocals are pretty good - It was interesting to read that reaction a parent of one of the kids shot in the colombine shootings had to say about him after seeing that video... Its amazing how people seem so determined to protect the image of the 'american way of life' (or somthing!) and that to tell a version of events that rubs with that ideology is deemed so dangerous.

The first Eminem song that really broke through my anti-Eminem mindset was Lose Yourself. I've liked Sing For The Moment, My Band, and this one as well. They have various levels of seriousness (My Band being kind of a joke song, but brilliant in doing so) and levels of depth, but they combine good musical quality with engaging themes...and don't come off as bigoted or ignorant like some of his older stuff and a lot of a lot of rappers' stuff.

With that said, I don't own any Eminem stuff.

To show that Rap is a very diverse genre, Skee-Lo is certainly in the Rap genre and I think he has one swear word on the entire CD. His CD, which I do own, is enjoyable but he isn't an incredible talent to the level Eminem is.

i feel all this. i fucking can't stand those little bitch kids. but the soft drugs thing (i am on LI so i'm surrounded by these motherfuxxors) is actually rarely true. they call themselves straight-edge and they refuse to do anything at all. just another trend. you don't even know how many of these nerds i'm surrounded by. they swarm the streets with their dyed black, flat iron hair, and small tee shirts featuring crap suck bands that are meant to show off your muscles, but instead are flashing pale white twigs. and the tight jeans...don't even get me started. must kill.

Thats exactly it, little bastards. And they look like any minute the sky is going to fall on their damn heads and crush them to death. Most of them seem in capable of washing or stringing more than a few grunts together in a sentance. All i get is this overwhelming urge to grab a baseball bat and knock some sense into them. EIther that or give them to the "Queer eye for the straight guy" makeover guys to dress them up in frilly pink clothes and give them some good old pyschological damage that will scar them for life
