Ghost Recon All-Star Game

Thats right a Ghr AllStar game GAS for short.  Now 01 Ein and I think that this would be a great Idea to do... this does not have to be affiliated with *DAMN but it can be if they would like.  We propose that mid season, the members of the Top 8 clans in the GHR League will be put up to vote on... now the way we would vote at this time... is on a set night, ein and I would be in a chat room properly named.  And we would record peoples GR # and they get 3 votes.  Now We have discussed the issue of this most likely being a popularity contest, but oh well.  We also have decided that the top 24 players will make it.  Then the teams will be sorted like this:

1st place clan               2nd
3rd                              4th
5th                              6th
7th                              8th

This is subject to change as is seen fit.  Now the all star games host is up for grabs, but we are going to talk to the Migraine host and any one else who would like to.  The reqs for the host is A G5 and a host that can support 20 people in game at one time, we may shoutcast the game and we will need an official person in charge of the server, which if the all-star game is DBL supported would be either an admin that is not in the games, or someone appointed by the chair.  If not supported by the DBL it would most likely be myself.  

The two top voted people on either team will be the team captain.  The games would be best of 12 (mbmore mb less) but 12 so that there is enough for everyone to see and play.  Each player who is able to get voted in would be guaranteed at least 4 games of play.

This is still just in the makings and so post your opinions as you wish.

EDIT ADDED: you must have cb'd twice for your clan to be eiligible! Clan Leaders are going to submit all eligible members to me at an announced date! Also the cb must be a TEAM cb... and there may be a limit of number of people clan leaders can submit like 5 or something.

Be in a clan that is one of the top 8 on the DBL
Play in 2 cb's for the clan that you are currently in.
Be nominated by your clan leader

Submit your name here
Be Voted in to get one of the 8 nominee spots.
Have all the current DBL map packs

Krush the problem with having non-clanners is that there is no way for them to be nominated.  We have a system (stated above) and non clanners just arent able to fit that.  Now maybe we can work something out if enough non-clanners are interested... but as of now, we will be having no non-clanners in the All-Star Games

Well guys, there is a possibility of me shoutcasting this match if you guys want it. Ive had some people ask me so i decided to post here and ask if you guys want it. The one thing that would be different is that the shoutcast wouldnt be live. Being i have not recieved any donations in the last 2 months i have not been able to pay for a server so id only be able to record the match and throw it up on my site afterwards for DL. Tell me what u guys think.

I brought this idea up a few seasons ago.  I just thought an America vs Europe idea sounded fun, but obviously you guys have put alot more thought into it.  Since you guys are all about trying to make it happen I say go for it.

The idea was brought up about having the games be Euro vs US but for the first run through of the all-star games, we wanted to just see the interest in it. Once the first Season of the All-Stars has been played and we see that it goes well and has enough participation, then perhaps the future ones could be European vs American.
   The problem with having teams for all the countries involved in gameranger is that there are too many countries out there. It would become big enough to be it's own league and for the first trial run on this, it seems like a big undertaking to have that many teams.
   Thank you all for your ideas and I am glad that it seems like a lot of the clans are starting to get into this idea as much as Dark and I am.

lol Sorry Reb... we would love the shoutcast to happen!  I was the one who asked hybrid to ask you in the first place.  Hopefully some wealthy people who want to see this all-star game happen will donate a little $ so that we can get it live!

This got a bit more complex than I think it needs to be at about the third sentence. Why not just take the top 8 clans, have them each pick their best player, and then have a community vote for 2 more that the clans did not pick? Now we have a single, 5v5 cb, with the true stars. Not a freaking finals-level scheduling nightmare. It could be shoutcasted and the replays made availible for download and whatever else. And its not a pain in the ass.

Or, if you really want more people involved, use the multi-cb rules that are already on the books, and make it a 5v5v5v5 cb. I could host that many easily enough and laglessly.

Anyways, its a great idea to have an all-star game. Just try to keep it simple.
