Since I didn't say it, if you read the article they PC requirements are 1.2-1.5 GHz.

(some guys made a UT original mod for Marathon, but i think the project died somewhere near the mid-way point)

Half Life 2 mac was put on hold because the publisher didn't agree to the PC developers cut.

I know about Aleph One, but what i was saying is, if only someone (bungie) would re-make it with the graphics etc. that we're going to see in Doom 3 =D
To try and say something on the topic of D3, any word on where it picks up or what the basic storyline is?

T'will look like shit on the Xbox. It requires a 1.5-2GHz processor. The xbox is like a 800. That fact alone means you won't see the same type of graphics you would see on a high end PC or a nice G5.

Myst, I suspect you will be surprised as to performance on the XBox. Sure, the hardware isn't as great, but the important matter is that the hardware is standardized. You know every single XBox is capable of the same thing, thus allowing you to perform much further optimization than in the PC app where you have to target a very wide range of hardware. |

Well, the Xbox has got to be doing something right if it can run Halo at full settings, whereas my 1Ghz laptop, to run it smoothely, has to have -EVERYTHING- turned to low, or off. (Its got a Radeon 9600)

What porting companies have to do is find some way to let the game optimize itself for the computer it's on not pre optimize it for so many it looses its performance on most.
