How to Respond to "Peace Activists"


With all of this talk of war, many of us will encounter "Peace?Activists" who will try and convince us that we must refrain from?engaging in war with Terrorists and nations that sponsor Terrorism.? These activists may be alone or in a gathering...most of us don't know?how to react to them. When you come upon one of these people, or one of?their rallies, here are the proper rules of etiquette:?


1. Listen politely while this person explains their views. Strike up
a?conversation if necessary and look very interested in their ideas.
They?will?tell you how revenge is immoral, and that by attacking the people
Who did?this to us, we will only bring on more violence. They will probably
use?many?arguments, ranging from political to religious to humanitarian.?

2. In the middle of their remarks, without any warning, punch them in?the
nose.?


3. When the person gets up off of the ground, they will be very angry?and
they may try to hit you, so be careful.


4. Very quickly and calmly remind the person that violence only brings?about
more violence and remind them of their stand on this matter. Tell?them?if
they are really committed to a non-violent approach to undeserved?attacks,
they will turn the other cheek and negotiate a solution.?Tell them they must
lead by example if they really believe what they are?saying.


5. Most of them will think for a moment and then agree that you are?correct.


6. As soon as they do that, hit them again. Only this time hit them?much
harder. Square in the nose.


7. Repeat steps 2-5 until the desired results are obtained and the?idiot
realizes how silly of an argument he/she is making.

Wtf does this have to do with going to War with a country that had nothing to do with the attacks in the first place? If we wanted to get the real terrorist we should have attacked the Saudis.

I'm talking about anytime we go to war or are involved in combat with terrorists.  I wasn't specifically referring to Iraq, but I for one do not think that war was unjust.

Every friday in my town there are a group of people who stand at a street corner and hold up signs to protest various international going-ons.  Most of them are old men and woman.  Every friday afternoon I drive by there and see signs such as "Boycott Israeli goods!" and "Arrest Israelis for war crimes!".  I cannot tell you how much this enrages me.

A few years ago my family took a trip to Israel.  It is obvious by just walking through the streets that almost all of the Israeli businesses, especially those who get their money from tourists (a vast majority of them do), are suffering horribly due to the ongoing violence.  It is a sad thing.  A boycott is the LAST thing these people need.

These protestors on the corner who say they want peace are helping destroy the lives of innocent people.  Why should we make the common businessman suffer for the actions of his government?  Why should the Israeli people be held responsible for the mistakes Sharon has made?  It's plain and simple, they shouldn't.

I find the vast majority of peace activists or protestors to be grossly misled and totally oblivious to what the real issues are.  It's obvious that many of them protest just because they have the right to, as they are out on the street every single week with a new complaint.

I have no problem in general with war protests and such, but a handful of them tend to piss the hell out of me.

No, I would never commit violence against against peace activists, but I sure as hell have fantasies about it.  Go ahead and do this GS, I would laugh my ass off.

Look, Myst, this post is about making a point!  Not about actually going out and punching someone in the nose.  I should have known better than to show it to a bunch of 15 year-olds on this kiddie forum.  It is to show you that the very people who say we shouldn't go to war, for any reason, are very misguided and are just plain wrong.  Sure there is time for diplomacy.  I'm all for it.  But when the time comes for military action, the American people should be behind our leaders and our military.

And sure, they have the right to say that...."freedom of speech" and all.  And I have the right to punch one of them in the nose...."freedom to defend myself" and all.  And hell, even if I got thrown in jail for it, it would be worth it.  lol[/color]

Saying we shouldn't go to war for any reason is misguided. I think it would be very guided to say the US shouldn't Invade France, Britain, or Canada. There are reasons not to invade countries beyond a president's personal agenda. There are plenty of countries that needed that invasion more than Iraq. Look at Iran, or North Korea. Those two really need it. What about Syria, lots of terrorists supposedly there.

You're correct that freedom of speech is a joke. It's become a joke since Bush came in and have silenced any voices that go against his beliefs.

I don't know why Canada's voting for him, but if he does win he will be a minority supported by the Quebec Bloc Party which are basically republicans that want Quebec to be it's own country. So yes, chaos will soon take over the world.

correction, we are not only engaging war with terrorists but also the civilians, the 6+ thousand we have killed so far in Iraq. Call me a peace activist if you like, but I'm not against all wars with a cause, just wars in which the cause is either not stated or is changed numerous times during the war. Any war should have one cause and one cause only, and that cause should be stated before the country declares war.

How Does a Radical Respond to a Bully?

1. The Bully punches the Radical.

2. The Radical decks the Bully, breaking his nose.
