You know, no one gives the Canadians enough credit. They've fought in heroicly in WWI and WWII. They stormed the beaches on D-Day, for example.

The Canadians were actually some of the best and toughest British troops during WWI.  Them and those crazy ass Australians & New Zealanders (ANZAC)

During the battle of Passcendale Ridge, a lead-up operation to the launching of the Battle of the Somme, the only troops to take and -hold- ground, were the Canadians and ANZAC regiments.  Unfortunately...they suffered almost 100% casualties in doing so...and in one fell swoop Haig, the British general, annihilated his elite infantry core, in a battle that ended up being more or less tactically insignificant.

My little historical rant.

Oh by the way, fuck no i wouldnt die for Bush.  If he wins the election, and re-instates the draft, im not waiting for my draft notice to come, i know it will, im grade A-1 cannon fodder, im off to New Zealand.  As shameful as some of you *coughGScough* might think it is, im not dieing for someone who i absolutely despise and dont believe in.  If Kerry reinstates the draft, ill go, for two reasons, one, he has his head screwed on straight, and as far as i can tell if he reinstated the draft it would be as an absolutely last resort, and he wouldnt be happy about doing it, at all.  Second, and i think more importantly, he has seen combat, and seen men die, and killed people, face to face, and knows what he would be sending people into.

Plus by that time i hopefully will have gotten my stupid f**king knees fixed to the point where i can run more than two miles without being incapacitated for the week after.  (I hate bum knees)
