That site is a little innacurate.  He actually died on September 19, 1993 (not in 1995, as the site says).  I remember that date because he died 8 days before General Jimmy Doolittle in 1993.  Also, he shot down 7 American-flown P-51 Mustangs while on temporary duty against the 15th Air Force.  While in the West German Air Force after his release from the Soviet Union, Hartmann would often come to the United States and fly in U.S. Air Force fighters with our pilots.
