Like I said.. I used to have prob like this out of the app ver of it.. thats why I started running the SS.. Not had any probs out of it so far.

argh i know but i run the app becasue i find i get much better results from it - and i can use the comp while the app runs in the background all the time

Anyone know if it's bad for the processor to leave it running every night when I sleep (at least 8 hours a night)

Im at 55.75% right now =(   However, the weather is getting a lot cooler right now, so i dont feel so bad leaving it on for long periods of time.  Yesterday it topped off at about 90, and for Washington, that is scorching hot.  In Celsius thats right around 32.2 degrees.

Too farking hot for me, so i felt bad for my computer.  I popped off the keyboard and just tapping the heat sink with my finger gave me a second degree burn =P

So now im elevating the computer on books, taking off the keyboard, and having a fan run underneath it, and im debating whether or not i could fill a bag of ice cubes/icewater and put it on the heatsink for a minute or two to cool it off.  I probably wont, but ive had the thought =P

By the way BFG, now you know the ph33r of protein p638_L939_K12M...wuahahaha

Well actually im kinda feeling the wrath to to be honest... i have managed just over 6% so far today... thats with this comp working on it from 8am and its now 10.00pm. 6 freaking percent.

I have the heating turned off in here - the mac is keeping the room toasty warm though... i thought about making some popcorn off the exhaust at the back...

ok.. well I have been timing my g4 powerbook (500mhrz) and its st like 50% after a week and a half of working on a project... I'm going to time the g5 over the weekend.. It just started a new fold this morn so I can get an accurate timeframe

Wow!  I am definitely NOT going to use my computer at work for this anymore!  I did a fold on my G5 at home in about 8 hours.  I did the download and started one on this piece of crap PC I have at work this morning and in 4 hours it still says 0.00%.  WTF!

May have something to do with the fact that this PC at work is something along the lines of a Pentium II.....lol.

Lol, i would advise you dont even try to run FAH on a PenII GS...especially if its like the huge-ass protein BFG and I are chewing away on.  (Who else is doing this one? i know someone is)

Im surprised your computer hasnt exploded yet GS.   Grin

Oh and by the way BFG, im at 70% as of about a minute or two ago.  Unfortunately i started at 60% at about 5:00 this morning, and its been running all day...so im tackling about 10% daily, if i leave it running all the time.

Well, I started that fold at work (I found out it is actually a Pentium III) at 7:00 am today and when I left work at 6:30 pm it was at 2%.  I noticed my G5 at home is working on the same fold, and I started it at 6:30 am, before I left for work.  It is now 7:15 pm and that same fold here on my G5 is at 92%.  So, for all you math wizards out there, just how much faster is my G5 than that piece of crap Pentium III???
