Death of a Sniper
«
on:
April 12, 2004, 01:11:25 am »
Hey guys, just wanted to tell you all about a U.S. Army Sniper that died recently. His name is Joseph Warth (Joe), and he died last Monday, April 5, 2004. Joe joined the Army in 1960 and was trained as a Sniper. After serving in West Germany, he soon went to Vietnam and was serving as a Sniper there when the Gulf of Tonkin Incident happened in August 1964. Things soon heated up and his score quickly rose to over 20 confirmed kills. After his Vietnam service, Joe got out of the Army and returned to his hometown in Ohio where he retired from Mead Paper Company 38 years later.
Joe will be missed by his family and friends, and the Sniper Community he left behind nearly 40 years ago.
Good-bye Uncle Joe......I miss you.

You sick, sick man! I can't believe you think it's a game where you "score"

Ghostsniper.... I'm sorry for your loss and all
But what does this have to do with anything? Once again I'm sorry but this is just a sad attempt to rack up some posts.

and the game we play is only one step away from what he did. the only difference is that they aren't constantly trying to squeeze out that extra bit of realism. how would you like it so that when the tango shot you you started bleeding? would that be real enough for you?
please guys, think before you comeback with hypocritical remarks like that

Wow, how do you reply to three posts at once???
I didn't expect this outcome to my thread at all, but here are my replies.....
To Crypt
:
Yes, in the military we do call it a score.....just as when a fighter pilot shoots down another aircraft, or an infantryman kills another soldier, or a sniper kills someone from 800 yards. To put it in a little more perspective for you Crypt, when you get laid, you also "score."
To Hazard
:
I didn't write this to up my post-count. I could care less how many posts I have, I just get on here to relieve boredom and hopefully make some interesting posts along the way. If I cared so much about how many posts I had made, do you really think I would have deleted 400 of them? Ask Brain about that one.
To Scrach
:
It is NOT a sick game involving innocent people killing others. Do you really think that the U.S. Snipers are just out shooting at innocent civilians? If you believe that, then you just don't know anything about the military of this country.

Thanks Stripes. He was my Uncle, and he was a very good friend to me. He is the one that taught me how to take down a deer from 800 yards with a Remington 700 in .308 cal.

Except for this mis spelling, it is english. His point, I believe, is that this is not Ghostsnipers personal blogspot. ergo such spam or personal topics have no place here...

Whatever, I don't think it should be called a score though.
Anyway, I was just kidding in the first place, but you didn't realize that.

No, I realized you were just kidding. Because I know that if you knew that I knew that you weren't kidding, you would no longer be breathing.
