I don't know if anyone has seen this buts its worth it if you haven't.

http://halosm.bungie.org/misc/evolutionlargemirrors.html

Its a video showing Halo from its early stages of the mac/pc version till the last version before Bill came and stole it. Its got commentary from some of the Bungie team.

Its amazing how much stuff never made it to the xbox version makes me wonder "what if".

Enjoy!

Meh, kinda cool. I wish it had gone further into the current day. Personally I've had no contact with Halo before I bought it for mac, and I dont really give a damn about how it was in the old days unless it impacts the here and now.

Heh, I forgot to reply to this. I got the video yesterday and liked it a lot. It's a damn, damn shame that they finally had to neuter so much of the game to get it out for the XBox launch. But one of the narrators makes the final point when he says (pardon my paraphrasing), "it was either publish it like this or throw it away." Bungie was in serious financial trouble at the time of the Microsoft buyout. If that hadn't been the case, Halo would have been a quite different game.

It most certainly would. I'm sorta glad it ended up like it did, Halo 2 is going to rock your Xbox this winter.

The Bungie site was updated today and it has 4 pages on the pre xbox versions. You should check it out it as some cool screenshots.

Ahhh i remember back in the day..... The Graphics engine was being developed with Halo being much in the same style as myth - a 3rd person camera from a birds eye type view... untill one of the techs said somthing along the lines of " hey this landscape would look pretty sweet from a first person perspective".... lovely
