AA Rules Addition

A few changes to the AA rules that the admins have discussed and put into place for season 8

SF Hospital will no longer be a map choice due to low framerates
SF Recon will no longer be a map choice due to low framerates
SF CSAR will now be included as a map choice (didnt know i forgot to put it in the rules but now it is)
SF CSAR timelimit will be 7 minutes
Mout McKenna tiebreaker will now be best of 3 rounds rather then 1 round.

Additions may come later

WTF!!!  Don't whine about low frame rates, buy yourself a new computer.  This is getting rediculous!  Hospital and Recon play just fine.  That's like saying we can't play certain maps on Ghost Recon because some idiot on a 300 MHz iMac can't play them due to low frame rates.  Too bad!  There are always going to be maps that get bad frame rates on the low end computer systems.  So you are going to just not allow two of the best maps in America's Army???

Ugh, I vote for new admins for the America's Army ladder.

GhostSniper, I have a fucking Dual 1.25GHZ G4, I get 4-6 FPS on Recon, that's with a 2 gigs of RAM, and a 64MB graphics card ( Had a 128MB GF4Ti in it, but I found that the ATI runs things better ).

IMO, if the recommended system requirements can't get playable framerates on a given map, then we should ban that map for CBs, I think that's a very reasonable way to work.

Umm im sorry but im speaking for the mac AA community. The percentage of people playing AA on a G5 is lower then people playing AA on comps lower then G5's so until EVERYONE that plays AA buys a G5 those maps will not be played. PERIOD.

Again, I vote for new leadership in the AA Ladder.  I think the admins that we currently have for AA need to get their collective heads out of their asses and realize that there is someone playing on every map every day out in AA land who is getting bad frame rates and is dealing with it.  My god, I played AA on my G3 iMac and was getting horrible frame rates and I still played.  Get over it.

I have to agree with Ghost on this one....

Alot of people hate playing Docks on Ghost recon due to the fact that they run os9 and the map is real laggy on them....

But its still allowed...

Also The new DAMN Map Pack 2.0 for GhR... I have a G5 and some maps are even laggy an choppy for my system... yet these are allowed...


I suggest you pick up some new members who can handle the fps orbuy a new computer.... Game should stand as is!

I dont see why we should take out a map that a2 never plays just to make them safe from future losses....

GS, you'll find that most PC ladders ban those maps too.

As I said, if the recommended system requirements can't run it, then it won't be allowed in the battle league.

This isn't me having an issue with my personal framerates, I've got a PC sitting 10 feet away from me that can pull 90 at Recon without a problem ( 3.2, 2GB, 256MB ), I'm just stating that it's unfair to expect people to play on maps that the recommended system can't run.

Let me tell you this. I AM NOT AN AA ADMIN!!! Im just the writer and creator of the rules. I am going by what multiple people have requested. Im glad that you guys have g5's i reall am. But for the people who are stuck with the lower end comps i want them to have a chance also. And, i see that u know TWL Eight. If u notice, on the map listing for 4v4 ladders the maps we are debating are not allowed. The map choices read and I QUOTE

JRTC Farm

Swamp Raid

10 minute maps:

No where in there in the 4v4 objective ladder on TWL do u see the words SF RECON or SF HOSPITAL. Now i imagine that if the clan leaders of both clans agree to playing that map then it is ok. But basically if u play another clan in Recon or Hospital u are just FPS owning them. So why dont we just leave those maps out casue im sure u guys can still play the others that u like like CSAR and Pipeline.

Well, tell you what...the other day when we played -a2- we played on Mountain Pass SE.  Now the CB was supposed to be a 4v4 and BTs had 4 people on to play.  But when it came time, -a2- told us that Snipe couldn't play in that map (which -a2- chose, by the way) because he got bad frame rates on that map.  So, doesn't Mountain Pass SE need to be taken off the list of maps too?

You see, my point is, just because somebody gets low frame rates off of a map, doesn't mean that map can't be in the list to be played in a CB.  And quite honestly, I don't give a FLYING FUCK what the PC world does about anything.  They are all a bunch of losers in my opinion.

And when I come visit my sister in Alaska this summer, I'm comming to see you Typhy.  Cause I'm gonna break your door down and smash that piece of shit PC of yours with my bare hands!

Snipe's framerates are unplayable at MP SE, but Snipe has a 700 G4, that's well below the recommended system.

Sorry guys can't be banning maps becuase u guys cant play them... Crypt has  something low end.... and he still gets out there with his low framerates and has fun with us...

He's not the only one with a lower end computer, but becuase he has a low end computer we dont let him play in AA cbs....

Maybe you guys should start looking for other players instead of changing the rules to help your clan out.

I just find it rather humorous that you, eight, are quibbling over two maps on a ladder that- you just pointed out yourself in another thread- has three active clans. That said, I hope heads will cool, as I don't see anyone's position changing as a result of persuation on this issue.

i have to say that i get better Frame rates on Hospital then CSAR. Hospital is my favorite map and i hope it will be included.
