First of all I would like to say, I'm not happy I've gotta write about this, I'm following an admin's advice, and this event, took alot of my pleasure out of cb'ing.

*my recollection of the events*
Yesterday at approx. 10:20 pm we (z][t and Toxic:Smiley agreed to cb. 4v4. Joka put up a host, more or less right away, and at about 10:40pm all the z][t guys joined up after someone was on the phone for 20 minutes, and couldn't be replaced by one of the many members online. Lagtests got played, changed to Sentinel's host, good vibes, everyone was happy and a bit nervous. We played till 2-2, then z][t said they wanted to change hosts. It was about 11:20- 11:30 and Joka, Fish and me had school the next day and Sentinel needed to get up early, so we decided to skip the lagtests, and start right away. Which never came. Civic's ping had gone to zero, he said his dad was sending an e-mail, we waited and waited. Two of them even went out to check what the problem was, or fix their Netfone, something like that. Now the host for some reason started the game and ended it right away. Now as time passed, our (Joka, Fish and I) moms started to get upset and were about to pull the plug, as it was close to midnight ( 11:55 approx. )
We were pissed, and arranged to continue the cb today, because my mom was so pissed she doesn't want me to play after dinner, hooray, thx. So I asked for it to start at 7:30pm at the latest. At about 6pm-6:30pm we (Joka Fish Sent and I) played games in Sent's room, while waiting for the people of z][t to come get us, as we had not seen any, or not enough before we played the games.
At about 7pm, I think Hawk, from z][t was on Netfone with me and I told him to tell "his bosses", as I put it, that we'd cb at 7:30pm at the latest. At 7:40 I went downstairs and I think Joka went offline, after not hearing a word from z][t. Now I have exams in a week and a half, and hardly have time to play. With now 6 days left, a place in the finals seems so far away.

I would like to ask the admins, and other people what they think should happen.
What I am doing is trying to get a clear answer and display the facts correctly.

thx

4rch3r,

Is there any possibility of rescheduling again and finishing the games?  If you can, then settle on an exact specific time, and get screenshots of the coversation.  If either clan doesn't show up, then a forfeit can be called, but as of now I think your best bet it to try to find a time to finish the games.

Splinter the main prob is that joka and 4rch have exams, they can't play that much anymore Sad

That's why we asked to finish the cb today...

I can't understand why they just didn't replace civic by one of their other members untill his dad was finished. We told them the option of subbing, but they just didn't answer to it.
We waited 20-30 mins on mag's host...

In this kind of situation, it seams to me the rule for crashers has to be applied, either continue the cb with one guy less or sub him with another guy. And not wait for 30 mins and never end the cb anyway.

But its the admin's decision, I still hope we can finish the cb. But I don't know if 4rch, Joka or even plop will be online to play.

Hmm...unfortunately for you guys Sent, there is something in the rules about delayed CBs:

Rule #11. A CB must be started and finished in one session. The CB cannot be delayed midway through. If a team is not able to finish the CB, they must forfeit. The Administrators of this Battle League are only interested in completed clan battles. If your clan and the other clan agree to delay a CB, which is against the Admins suggestion of completing a CB in one session, you are responsible to complete the CB on your own. Do not ask the Admins for help once you have decided to delay the completion of a CB. Your decision to agree to a delay is still your decision. You have the right to disagree to a delay.

Unfortunately there isn't much we as admins can do in this situation.  The rules basically state that since you guys agreed to delay, then it's all out of our hands.  Last night you guys did have the right to make them continue with a subbed player or a man down:

Rule #13. Clans are allowed to substitute players with these following conditions: A player who crashes during a game may be substituted. A player, who leaves during a CB, but not during a game, may also be substituted. The player who is leaving must be replaced within 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes has expired, the clan with the player who left must play the next game short handed.

I know it's not the answer you guys wanted, but next time if you know that you won't have a whole lot of time to finish the cb later on, take tons of screenshots of them delaying, tell them they have to continue or they will be forfeiting.  It kind of bit you in the ass when you agreed to delay the CB.  Just from my experience, delayed CBs never go well.  They either never get done, or there is tons of drama involved in trying to get them done.

The problem with that is you have to try to imagine the situation.

An example:

Clan A: brb... parent's sending an email
Clan B: ok

-10 min later-

Clan A: Netfone's not working
Clan B: Well hurry the fuck up, we have to go to sleep soon
Clan A: Calm down... just have to fix NF, then we'll start again

-10 min later-

Clan B: Play now or you forfeit.
Clan A: Whoah.. chill out. I already told you, we're trying to fix our netfone.
Clan B: Well we have to go to sleep soon. Our parent's are getting pissed.
Clan A: Look, we wouldn't make YOU continue if YOUR nf wasn't working, so have some fucking patience.

End of simulation. Wow. That was a wild ride.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So as you can see, threatening someone that they'll forfeit can only end up taking the fun out of it, pissing people off, and making it look like you're in it for a cheap win. Seems like you shouldn't start a cb unless you are absolutely certain you'll be able to stay up long enough to finish it.

Splinter, I got a screenshot where we ask several times to start the game, we waited for 20 mins and then I started to hear the other guys's moms yelling in their nf they had to go to bed. Its not like we wanted to delay the cb to another date. We wanted to finish the cb that night, but due to the fact zt wasn't in any intention to forfeit or sub civic there was no other option for us then asking to play the cb the day after.

I don't like to force another clan into a forfeit. Why would anyone do that? So now we have to forfeit because we won't have enough players online and they didn't want to sub civic?

No, you guys won't have to forfeit.  From my point of view, if this game doesn't get finished, then it just goes away. no winner no loser.

I agree that forcing another clan to forfeit sucks.  Personally, I don't think I could do it either, I'm just informing you of what your rights are.

nice post snipe (no sarcasm) Its put the way I thought it.

just a little comment:
We started the room at 10.20 pm and knowing from the previous cb it would take around 1hr30 mins to cb zt.
But we only played 4 games at 11.50 pm that's half of the cb we played the first time Huh
I think we even had time enough to finish 2 cb's.
the games itself took around 35 mins of the hour and a half, the rest of the time we waited, and waited...

We were all online from 9 pm waiting for a cb.

A rematch then it is then, buckle up z][t !

If 4rch3r can't be online and play i would like to see z][t go aggainst any potential principles they might have aggainst 3v3's... not that theres any rule stating it, but the community is watching and you don't want to get your asses to the finals by ducking cb's do you?  Wink

psst. arch, you can't have pictures in your signature here.. . Wink

rgr that, joka. Smiley

we might have something against 3v3?s? nah, just something against 2v2?s, that?s for the CQB ladder. most of our team cbs were actually 3v3?s if u check in matchlist.

today i was afk most of the day until 9:30pm, busy with work, i didnt know anything about a time agreement for 7:30pm... magnetic wasnt online today at all. when i was up for some gaming and maybe a cb, that was around 10pm, i got told it?s too late for u guys, unfortunately.

ducking cbs to get our asses to finals? z][t? that didnt and will never happen...
i?m sure we?ll find a moment where we can cb again before the finals...

what about tomorrow, thursday, evening? after 9pm somewhen? i?ll be online and i?m pretty sure some other cb-rdy z][t?s too. Smiley

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I'll try to add in some special effects next time I do something similar. Or maybe I'll hire some smilies as actors.

Some smily actors I've worked with in the past:

Sylvester Stallone, Rambo:

Pierce Brosnan, 007:

Mel Gibson, William Wallace:

Bruce Willis, John McClane

Tom Cruise, the Last Samurai

Look forward to my next simulation. It'll be a doozie!
