Splinter, I understand what you're saying. However, I still don't understand your attitude. Is it that you consider 2v2s less fun than sitting on GR and talking, or playing in normal games? Or is it that you haven't practiced for 2v2s at all, so you're not confident that you'd win? I would think that if you really are just in it for the fun, like you say, then you'd be willing to do 2v2s.

 

Yes, Typhy, I honestly would rather play in a regular game than do 2v2s.  At least in regular games, I can connect to a group of other c| members, and we all can go into a room and basically practice 4v4, 4v5, or 4v6.  And actually we practice in plenty of 2v2 situations.  Whenever there are 4 of us on we often do 2v2 practice.  But as a clan, it's not what we focus on. And these days, I don't really care if I win.  I spent 3 seasons CBing constantly, trying to get every win we could.  Now I just want to come online and have fun.    Getting online with a group of my friends, and chatting it up and laughin is what makes it fun.  When it's just 2...not as much fun.

It's just personal taste Typhy, we don't all have to think the same way.  Just like you don't like GhR, I don't like small cbs.

I have no problem with that, Splinter. If you'd really rather play in regular games than do 2v2 CBs, then that's completly your choice, and I can respect that. It's also harder when you've got 4 people who've known eachother for 3 years on NF. Gives us plenty of things to argue about. I can't remember a CB this season where we haven't gotten into an argument or "discussion" about something on NF while we're suppose to be helping the person(s) who are still alive.

My biggest problems with big CBs:

??Harder to find decent hosts.

??Less teamwork, due to trying to work with more people on Netfone. I'm sure the clan's who's teamwork is based more upon what I might consider camping would think different. Personally, I find that it's much easier to assign 2 rushing points than to assign 4 or 5. I'm sure it's just the oposite for clans who actually "move as a team".

??Lower framerates for people on lower-end machines.

??Incrased lag.

??More of a hassle to setup.

? Takes longer.

? Increased chances of running into campers.

I'm sure there are lots of people out there who think just the oposite. Personally, the things that bug me most in RvS are getting killed because I run around a corner and my computer freezes, or drops to 1 FPS for about 3 seconds. The difference between having 4 people in a game and having 12 is about 25 FPS for me. That's a pretty big difference. Also, getting killed by campers, nothing more annoying than running into a clan who's spent the entire round at assorted posistions near their spawn, or indoor "snipers".

I hate long CBs. As Abs can tell you, I get inpatient quickly. Once I challenge a clan to a CB, I want to be playing within 2-3 minutes. I don't want a dicussion about it. When you live in Juneau Alaska, and your ISP ( how gay is this? ) just cut your upload from 256kbps to 128kbps, ( while charging me the same amount, I might add ), lag and the amount of people on NF is an important thing.

For these reasons, I perfer the better framerates, less lag, and less confusion of smaller CBs.

But did you find out about the soccer tournament the day before? I mean setup a cb and then not tell anyone about it not happening till a week after?
