Interesting issue came up during a potential cb with Po)| today....

After trying out a dedicated server provided by monoman, we moved to another server in search for a lag free game...

However the issue of requesting cb's was brought up when, noreaga requested that we save and send all replays for the cb... before we had even done a lag test.

Anway let me refer to the BL rules:

Quote
13. The record game feature must be enabled. Furthermore, the after action time has to be set to at least 30 seconds. If any problems occur each clan has the right to ask the host to save the reply. Further if you think someone glitched and it affected the outcome of the game note it in the debrief period and take a screenshot of your accusation to remove all doubt about where the glitch was and when it happened. Then make a new post in the *DAMN BL Forum and make the replay + your screenshot available so the Admins can review the game later and can rule as they see fit.

14. If one clan asks for a replay, the replays must be sent within 15 minutes after the CB was finished. If the replay is not sent within the

15 minute time frame given and won't be sent later(up to one hour later see warning points/penalties rules) the game of the missing replay will be changed to the good for the other clan. If two replays are missing it will be counted as you would have glitched twice. Notice that on dedicated servers you cannot save the replays. Therefore, as a consequence you cannot ask for replays on dedicated server.

Noreaga, and anyone else who applies to this: Replays are for sorting out potential issues where a glitch, or issue of cheating has occured. I believe rule 14 clearly stipulates the procedure that is followed if such a problem arrises, and that no clan is under any obligation to save and send allreplays without reason.

Replays are there to solve problems, not for clans to pore over in minute detail looking for somway to bring issue with a result of a game. if there are genuine problems, follow rule 14 and request them in the proper matter.

Po)| refused to begin the clan battle as :MoD: refused to provide all replays without reason.

You can't really fight this.. .

Since the hosting team may save each replay its only fair that the guest team is provided with them as well. Sure, it would be better if noone looked at them unless a problem arises, but since its not forbidden a team that dosen't ask for replays even with no problems in the cb has an disadvantage. I know it's very frustrating to spend hours and hours praticing a tactic and then the next time you play aggainst the same clan they are doing the same stuff.

Unless.. .

I think saving the replays should be made forbidden, with strickt punishment if you get caught. There would be no way to enforce this, but i think very few clans would acctually knowingly "cheat" if it was made very clear that it is considered cheating to save replays. Those very few that potentially might do so, usually are no threat anyway if they have to stoop to cheating.

Just a thought

I was told that this was the first time a clan had had issues with this, as noreaga informed me that they had never had any problem with anybody about having allreplays sent ect....

Just seemed that rule 13 is so clear about requesting a cb, how, why and under what circumstances ect....

I hosted a cb for clan Po)|.. i told them (both clans)from the start that sence i was dedicated host no replays would be saved.

The rules state the reason to get replays.. now if you do ask for replays to be saved at the start of the cb.. i feel that it is the host clans choice to do it or not.. they only have to send replays if there is a deff. prob as stated in the rules.

So your saying we could have have said yes we will save them all, and then just sent a replay(s) if an issue had occured and the replay had been requested in the proper manner?

The rules say that if asked, you have to provide the replay(s). This is used to check the opponents tactics. It's not enought that it is fround upon by some, it needs to be forbidden.

BFG, your upset cause the other team wanted the replays even when there was no cheat issue, right? well they would have an disadvantage if they didnt, everyone else does it so why shouldnt they...

Forbid it I say!  Smiley

It says A replay. that means you need to ask for it when it happends (that is in a diff rule about GhR glitching).

That means that the only time you r responcible to provide a replay is if they other team says you glitched  (or are suspected of it). The other team needs to have a Screeen shot of them asking for the replay and why b/c if they do not they have no way to prove they asked for the replay. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE ASKING FOR REPLAYS AT START OF MATCH. IF YOU WANT THE HOSTING CLAN TO SAVE ALL REPLAYS IT IS UP TO THE HOST CLAN IF THEY DO OR NOT. THE ONLY ONES THEY ARE REQIRED TO SEND ARE IF YOU THINK THEY GLITCHED but as the rules say even if they do ask for all replays and they look for something they can use as a way to dispute the cb.. they must have a screeen shot of them saying it in the after game menu or in game to show that they didnt search the replays for a cheep win.

My experience: with clans I am on generally good terms with, it is no big deal to swap replays even if there is no cheat suspected. It gives everyone the chance to review tactics, see what we did well or badly, see what other clans do...

As far as pouring over replays for glitches goes, the rules state that a clan suspecting a glitch must notify the other clan in the after game period and have a screenshot of that statement. Also the asking for the replay for teh purposes of reviewing the glitch. That is in Ghost Recon specific rules #13.

So there is nothing REQUIRING a clan to hand over all replays with no reason. It's just a nicety that friendly people do.
