Hi there!

I?ve got a little Question about the Raven Shield rules. Well the problem is, we agreed to a CB versus a Clan I don?t want to mention (I don?t want to flame).

Ok, we agreed that they host first and they started the game. Well, then we chose our map and the host changed it. Everything ok. Well, I think they thought that they can host all 5 matches, wich of course I don?t agree with them having pings around 50 and our best around 140. So they got pissed and said that they can choose the map for the first 2 matches. Ok, no Problem for me. The host started the game for a Lagtest (On training, wich is total BS lag map).

Well, our Clan, not that bad, won the test with noone of us died?It was a little laggy i agree, but it was Training and it was the first game... after that game, the connection suddenly broke and we all disconnected from Game. On GR, the host kicked us all out and they left GR. Well, one of them came back and we asked wtf was up with that. The answer was, hey it was too laggy, and we didn?t want to play u with this lag?great!

ok the question is:

Can the Clan who is hosting complain about too much lag and stop the CB?! I mean, we would be the ones that can complain. And so it would be when we host, then the other clan can disagree right?

I don?t want to gain any cheap win, It was just really annoying for me that good People chicken out of a CB like this and let us down. I really looked forward to our first RvS CB?

Aww man...A few corners to be turned here:

1. The real CB hasnt begun until the point where both clans specifically in chat says they accept host. This "point of no return" is in the mainchat after the lagtests.

So  - if I understand your message right, nothing illegal has been done, and there is no CB to be count.

Yea i know that it didnt start and there is no CB to be count. your right ;-)

3. Posting a thread like this under a "guest" account , like you just did (I dont know any on Gameranger with the name "Marky Mark") isnt that cool.
At least you should have told us your own nickname, and your clans name.

4. If your thread includes the whole story, and there really was no clear lagging at all, I would say the behaviour from hosting clan sucks big time.

Greetings, Abs. I've been waiting for you.  

For starters, don't blame this on my clan. Blame it on me. I was the one who gave the order to kill it.

Here's why:

For starters, as I mentioned in the game room when we were waiting for our host to get his router setup, I was about to go skiing. I came in expecting a nice quick CB. It ended up taking nearly half an hour for us to find a decent host.

First, when your host ( Ghost, I believe ) thought that he'd finally got it setup, we called the map as Training. 3 map switches later, it was still CSL. He said that it was a glitch. Acceptable, and understandable, but still pisses me off.

10 minutes later, we're on Myst's host. I understood that the hosting setup we were going to use was 3 games on our host, 2 on yours. Because of that, you guys got the choice to pick the first map. You choose Island Estate, I believe. Just as we were about to do a lag test at Island Estate, you mentioned that you thought it was 2 games on our host, 3 on yours. I accepted that, but said that, of course, because of that, we picked first map. We changed to Training.

In the lag test at Training, my ping went crazy. Also, I got pissed off at one of my teammates ( I don't like throwing lag tests. I think it effects your performance for the rest of the CB ).

By now, it'd been about 45 minutes sense we first agreed to CB, and I was ready to leave to go skiing. I said "Fuck it. With the amount of problems we've had already, there is no way that this CB is going to be anything quick. I'd rather not play a CB across the oceans when my ping is going crazy even on our host, and when I'm already pissed off about things."

I logged off GameRanger for three reasons: 1.) I was about to leave. 2.) I thought it'd be the best way to avoid an argument on GameRanger. I'd rather argue later when I'm not in a hurry, and when I'm not in a bad mood. 3.) I didn't want to get pressured into going back into that CB.

I probably could've handled it much better, however, I think I did a good job of avoiding a major argument.

Also, I'd like to thank Abs for posting as a guest, and not mentioning any names. Flies, all that he's trying to do is avoid a flame war. He has nothing to gain by this thread, the CB never started, he just wanted to point out a problem. He did that in the simplest way possible.
