I have a 800mhz Imac G4 with 768 ram with panther 10.3.3

I noticed raven shield started to pause and slow down at points so after re-installing that my computer crashed. Several rebooting and windows fading around, mouse crashing. Finder quiting for no reason. Windows not opening at all. Restarts crash and gives me a force restart. I reinstalled my OS 6 times. With panther 10.3 then updating it everytime. I just removed my ram and nothing. Same bullshit. I remove my airport, firewire drive and tryed to wip my HD several times. This is making want a PC now..

Did yah reboot the comp when 10.3.3 was finished optimizing? That is usually the case, or your comp just sucks.

My first idea was your RAM being corrupted, as that can cause many random things to happen. But then i re-read your post...

I have a 800mhz Imac G4 with 768 ram with panther 10.3.3

10.3.3? Unless that's a typo, you have a seeded beta version of OSX. And while betas shouldn't completely screw up your computer like that, Apple does say that you need to be willing to accept the possibility. My advice is to reinstall 10.3.2 or even earlier, like Jaguar.

I would assume that's a typo.

But on the slim chance it's not... that's probably the problem. Again though, I would strongly assume it's a typo.

Have you run any system software fix-em-up apps like systemworks (cough WASTE OF TIME cough) or tech tool? Try something like that.

Assume it's not a typo.

The 10.3.3 seed was pulled because it was fucking up iMacs.  He could just be a victim of that.

yep exactly. i would suggest a complete reinstall... stay with 10.3.2 or hell just the standard 10.3  untill apple gets that issue cleared up

its not a 20inch imac by any chance is it??.......

Quote
Developers who downloaded the seed received a message from Apple mid-week, announcing that the company discovered an issue with build 7F24 when used with the 20-inch iMac. "Please do not install Mac OS X v10.3.3 Build 7F24 on a 20-inch iMac," the company told testers. "This build may be installed on other systems, and bugs are being accepted."

No error, mb that OS version was the problem as |MP|Buccaneer  stated. I downgraded it to os 10.3.2, fixed and repaired my permissions and it seem to run smooth. I will install the imac 512 ram chip tonight to see if BS is in the air.

Maybe this will teach you not to pirate developer releases anymore.

Yeah, don't touch 10.3.3 until it comes from software update.

And if you are going to play with developer releases, at least make sure you keep current on the info.

Ace,

Who ever said that i pirated the update.

A) You are a Select or Premier developer on an iMac. Hah!

B) There is a known issue with 10.3.3 and certain iMacs. Of course, a developer would know this.

C) A developer wouldn't be retarded enough to reinstall the same developer seed 6(!!) times in a row without reporting the bug to Apple instead of whining on the DAMN boards.

D) A developer would never state that a buggy developer seed would make them want a PC.

E) You didn't say you tried repairing permissions or checking the syslog.

F) You refuse to put your name on this thread.

Sorry for the roundabout post, but to answer your question, I correctly said you pirated the update. Fuckin' noob.
