Somewhere between Spam and Flames

Here's an Idea:

I can't remember when I've seen SO much flaming on one forum. Since the idea here seems to be who can insult the most people in a single thread, why don't you make a thread for just that? Call it FLAMERS.

But, make it interesting....
Put the ones who normally flame "each other" on "teams" called The Flamers (use red type).
Put the rest on another team called The Objectors (use green type).

THEN...randomize the teams later. Oh, oh... don't forget points. Give post points for good flames and objections that DO NOT contain foul language  

Personally, I'd like to flame nearly everyone here (at least once) for incredibly stupid posts... and as soon as I figure out a way of doing it in reasonably good taste, I think I might.  

AND...Admins are required to be on the Flamer team, and are not allowed to lock the thread!

i just have to ask why you are trying to encourage flaming?  hell people on this board get away with damn near anything but murder. you want the mods to allow that too?  i don't think any of the mods could find a reason to justify this type of thread so how bout we all just forget that this thread ever happened

It was just my way of saying "OMG...that's all that's here -- everyone is trying to 'one-up' the last." And there were SO MANY that I couldn't figure out exactly where to say it, so I started one.  

Go ahead, delete it... that would kinda prove my point.

[BTW, it was all meant in fun! The flaming is going to happen whether there is a place for it or not, but it might be worth a try to localize it and actually have some intelligent threads happening in other places.]

Addendum:

Perhaps a better explaination is in order.

Witness the success of the the "Spam Drop Box." There is NEVER a lack of posts there. I think a "Flamers Drop Box," or something along those lines would accomplish the exact same thing, but with the flaming.

The problem here is that you are all (and please forgive me for saying this) thinking like "men." I've simply offered you a different approach. Instead of approaching the flaming as "to be controlled by policing all the posts"....make it into a challenge for those intent on doing it. You give them the place for it, you give them the rules, and see if they can follow them -- simply delete the ones who don't. I can almost promise more creative and interesting flames than what you're seeing every day now, and I can predict a VERY active thread, which will likely be of interest to all -- and for those it doesn't interest, it won't be in their way elsewhere.

Like I said, it's just an idea.

Really, what do you expect? Put together a large group of people with hugely diverse age ranges. Let them play games with each other, creating compitition and hate in some cases. Create a forum about it, toss in some mis guided ideas, stupidity and ignorance(and then add some older, and wiser adults to tell the kids when they're just fucking dumb) and voila! You have yourself the *DAMN forums

ps. this wasnt a condemnation or anything, the *DAMN forums are great, and do have so many intelligent posters....but its the web, I mean, no one knows who you are, how could you not flame once in awhile?
