Hooked my iBook up to my stereo...am I going to die?

So using one of those car adaptors for mp3 and cd players, i managed to connect my ibook to my stereo. all i did was put the tape in, and hit play. Seems to be working fine, anyone have any dire warnings I should know about, and thus unplug it?

If you want it to sound better, just use the 1/4" to RCA cables.  Plug it into the stereo out in the iBook and use the RCA jacks into your stereo.  A 3ft cable is only a couple bucks and works much better than those tape adaptors.

I do it all the time with an iBook and stereo.  Sounds great this way.

i thought you were talking about hooking your ibook up to your car stereo, with that tape thingy. a friend of mine had his pb hooked up to an amp and speakers and thought it was the greatest thing. not really the way to do it, but it gave me the incentive to start building up my system. so i got a new digital reciever and speakers to run my ibook, tv, etc through. now a game of rs sounds and feels like the real thing. i've had my ibook hooked up to my system for three years now and i've never had any problems. i have it hooked up like bucc.  the cable is only a couple bucks. i got a 30' cable at radio shack and it was still under $10  if i remember correctly.
