I just saw a video of the line to get into the new Apple store in Japan.  There's a link on the MP Site if you want to see it.

But gawddamn, that was the longest line I've ever even heard a joke about.

Yeah I saw that a while ago, it's quite amazing how thos Japs can patiently stand in line like that, apparently the vid wasn't even taken at peak hours (they estimated around 7000 people in the line at its peak, 3.5h waiting).

Holy shit. That line contains more people than are in all but the 5 biggest cities in my state.

And I thought the 2002 ski sale line was long. . . Holy fucking shit.

At the first crosswalk I would have been saying "Hell No".

7000 and only 3.5 hours, that's quite fast for that many people.  

Wait, that's too fast.  Assuming that they have a fire code and only allow so many people in the store, and that the store is full when there are 7000 people in line, they let one in for every one out, that would mean like 20 seconds of store time each?  3.5h = 126000 seconds  divide that by 7000 and you get 18.  It must have been a walking tour if they were moving people that fast.  That's worse than the line for the latest ride at Disney World (but explains why it's so popular with all the nice nipponese people).

That's more dedication / fanaticism than I thought.

OMG, that shit its crazy!! I lost count after like the 5th or 6th block.  My goal is to go back and watch it again and count the number of ppl in the line  Wink  (I hope I don't lose count)
