No, you don't want a new question.....but here is one anyways:

What did my grandfather name his P-38?

Now if you get that question, I'll buy you Premium for 5 years!   lol

okay GS... that?s hard.

i can tell you that your grandfather was P-38 Lightning Crew Chief and that his number was 85. it was painted on the nose of each P-38 in which he was in charge.
i found a lot of other pretty interesting informations about your grandfather in the internet... but nowhere how he named "his" P-38. Sad

Crew Chief???  He was a pilot, not a crew chief.  The number on the side of his aircraft was 88, not 85.  And he only flew one P-38.

Also, I didn't expect you to find the name of his P-38 anywhere on the internet (to my knowledge it isn't there).  But if you could see the picture of his P-38 on the wall in my office at work, then you could just read the name of his P-38 Smiley

Okay, this is your FINAL QUESTION.....

What was the world's first operational aircraft to use ejector seats?

the ejector seat as we recognise it today was invented in Germany during World War II.
early models were powered by compressed air and the first aircraft to be fitted with such a system was the Heinkel He 280 prototype jet fighter in 1941. one of the He 280 test pilots, Helmut Schenk, became the first person to escape from a stricken aircraft with an ejector seat on January 13, 1942 after his control surfaces iced up and became inoperable. this aircraft never reached production status, and the first operational type to provide ejector seats for the crew was the Heinkel He 219 night fighter in 1942.

Very good Civic, you are correct.  I knew I shouldn't have used a German plane for the answer!  lol

PM me with your GameRanger ID and you will soon have another year of Premium Smiley
