Ok lemurs... First of all... NF is overrated. Second of all... use a damn password... Third... DON'T USE NETFONE! BUY PREMIUM! IT IS A HELLUVA LOT BETTER!

Why?
Because it saves bandwith!
You needen't connect to anyone!
If someone attacks you vocally, you know it is someone on the other team.
It has way better sound quality.
It supports Scott Kevill's hard work!

There is NO excuse for not buying premium. AT ALL! If you think it's too expensive, you're a false ass! Don't you buy games that you only play for 2 months? I bet you can pay the same amount of money for something that gives you joy for a year. If you DON'T buy games at all then you can afford it anyhow.

OK i have had alot of probs out of the premium chat. NF is better b/c you dont have to push anybuttons to talk. And premium chat will not work for os 9 users. Untill evill makes mouse buttons assignable for the chat button i will continue to use nf. i like the premium chat is cool. but not yet ready for full cb use.

Premium Voice Chat is not a suitable replacement for NetFone.  I don't know if it was intended to be that way, but it certainly is not.  You can always bind one of your mouse buttons to chat, but if you go into a CB and use this new premium feature, you can't just chat with the people on your team.  When you are in the player setup room, you talk to everyone.  Makes for interesting conversations during CB's... you know... those conversations when everyone is deciding what map to pick and which kit to choose.  Those little tid bits of information wouldn't be private anymore.  Only what you say during the game can be private, not before the game.

Not so, Noto. The team voice channel works in the player setup lobby as well. So long as you've assigned your team. The moment you assign yourself to a team, it works. In fact, not being assigned to a team in the lobby is like a team in itself.

actualy we have a guy (hooks) who is on os 9 and his nf works fine in game.

I have to play in OS 9, because my OS X resets my router when I'm playing ghost recon... So I can't use the ingame voice communication, although I'm a premium member. But I can still use nf on my OS X comp to talk to the ppl of my clan.

When I get this problem sorted (which only occured after the gameranger update) I'll use the ingame voice communication for fun. But I need to fix the problem first, because I can't take  the risk crashing out in the middle of a CB.

Wow, as far as I knew u cant use NF on OS9.  I thought they only made a carbon version for it.  At least that was my intake.  The only issue I have with Premium talk, well, I really dont have an issue with it.  It's a nice feature, but only premium members can use it.  And many of my clan mates dont have premium.  Granted they should get it, but I cannot force them to do so.  Scott did a nice thing by allowing people to use this feature for all GR games.  Very kewl.  Unfortunately for me I cant use premium chat because I use a headsset for a PC on a PC.  This way it allows me to control setting for NF within a game and also allows me to recoonect to people while in a game.  I think what Scott did was a good thing but again, I do have to agree, the way it is now I wouldnt compare it to the keyless uselage of NF.

hello in regards to the comment that nf doesnt work in os9, i have to beg the differ, i use os9 and i play mohaa,GhR,Soldier of Fortune 2, and return to castle wolfienstine and nf works for me in all of them.

The only legit complaint I've hard about the new chat in GR for premium users is the lack of Voice Activation.  Personally, I like push to talk much better then voice activation.

NetFone - voice activation, limited abillity to adjust volume, and being able to talk outside the game itself

GR Premium - no need to connect or know IP's, nobody connecting that shoudln't, push to talk, ability to talk to the other team (if they are premium too).  

I personally like the GR version better, and one thing's for sure.  Scott will continue to tweak it and improve it for us gamers.  While I think Haxial is great, they aren't doing anything specifically for us either.

The only thing I see holding most clans back is getting their whole clan to sign up for premium.

Evill. Hooks had OS X on a lap top w/ he no longer has (his father took it back). but i was on NF w/ him last night in a game of GhR while he was on OS 9 I told him he sould post here that he uses OS 9 and NF.

NF has push to talk but you have to turn it on in the pref.

Evill, what are the possiblities of implementing a toggle in the next version? I would use a toggle key for chatting with my teammates while pushing/holding a key such as F5 to talk to the other team, I think it'd be a great idea. Also an idea for the future could be out of game chat with certain GR accounts, similar to nf, dunnno how possible that'd be but, it would solve the whole you can't chat outta game with GR premium chat.

i had that problem too and Evill made some tests with me cuz of 10.3
just change the ingame-voicechat keys in gameranger preferences to the modifier keys. that should work.

Yea i did that... i workes now... i just had to remap the keys in GhR too so i coud still use what was on the keys to begin w/
