For sure it's not going to be 56K friendly, but we all know how worth it the wait will be. I cannot wait to get me grubby hands on it. Feeding the sharks is an appropriate thread title.  Grin Just talking to Mac about what he has seen is driving me F*&@#ing nuts

Also have to throw in that I clocked my connection just this morning at a speed of about 2,100kbps  Grin Grin

Thats not my conncection, thats the new v92 modem from joi internet, Im using it in Elpaso. My sat conn clocked at 384k a sec, or someting like that, very rarely is that fast though

File size was not a major consideration with this mod. It'll be split into 20 or 30mb files just like we did with RLTC so it's not a problem. Remember, mods for counterstrike, half-life, unreal, etc, are commonly hundreds of megs. This mod weighs in currently unzipped around 320mb. Zipped, it's about 190 currently as one file.

Dude, you can get Verizon DSL for $35, if you're in the region they serve of course. They also have to be your local service provider.
The Baby Bells have started a price war for DSL and it can only get better.
Then you get yourself a nice Asante FriendlyNet FR1004AL wireless/router/firewall/print server for $100 (while the company still exists) and you can rock! http://www.asante.com/

I think DSL has finally gotten down to a reasonable price range. It all depends on where you live.

Not offered in my area. Too far outside the regular service area. And furthermore I can't get a cable modem since Adelphia doesn't find if feasible to run a line down my road as almost everyone has a satellite dish. So I'm kinda screwed for now. Not that I'm complaiging though, my modem gets the job done.

That sucks.
You're better off without cable anyway. The cable company in my area is ridiculous. They were charging at least $15 more for basic than Satelite, and Satelite let me have two recievers and a boatload more channels. The only problem I had was when a really heavy thunderstorm screwed the signal. Then I just pop a DVD in.
