BL approved mods

Something has been bothering me lately, and I hope there is some similar feeling in the community. Several kits, in this case I mention the 7.62 carbine and the AN94, come with binoculars. Now everyone should know that you have binocs with every kit anyway, so why waste a kit to bring an extra pair?
What I propose is that the BL approve and maybe participate in creating a mod that replaces these useless kits with frag grenades. For me, it would open up a pair of guns for use that thus far I haven't seen as even worth the space on my hard drive. Keep in mind that I am not asking for a sensor kit, knowing that such a request would meet more resistance. I would also point out that Island Thunder places frag grenades in rifle kits. This makes it more "pure" for those like myself who do not like third-party mods.

I think binoculars became standard equipment with GhR: DS. If you look through all the kits for each Ghost Recon and the Desert Seige mod, which I haven't done lately, I'm guessing you'll find that binocs don't come as a secondary complement to most primary weapons.
Binoculars are mentioned in the GhR manual only as a secondary piece of a kit. That is, there is no mention in the manual, I think, of ever soldier being equipped with binocs and that the default to use your binocs is the "L" key. Most likely the binocs came either with MP1 or a GhR update.

I believe it was an update, but that isn't really relevant. The "pointless" kits in question, now that I went and looked, are the two that I mentioned, plus the m60 and pkm support guns. All these kits are DS... so I figure the L key was not standard with DS, but it came later. Since the pkm and m60 come with frags already, the most correct replacement for them would be claymores.

I dont think the BL should aproove any mods that do anything to the kits or guns...
You don't like the kits? Then don't use the guns... Before the sensors came to our world i used to use other guns other then the OICW... I feel that if you make a change like this... How bout giving snipers and the SA-80 some sensors?
If you don't want to pick the bio... DONT... plain an simple..

For further clarification. I am not asking for sensors in any kit, as I knew that would be unreasonable. What I am asking for is a fourth kit for these four nice weapons. Because, for all real purposes, they only have 3 each. Heck, give them the plain M9, the cpu cigs, anything. You think that enforcing two pairs of binoculars in the same kit is justified?
Now I could be unreasonable as your post suggests, I could whine and beg for an extra ammo kit for the M4, but did I do this? No. I request that 4 kits, those which have an elite soldier packing two pairs of binoculars, be fixed. Think of these useless kits as a bug that needs to be patched. Would you object to a bug fix eight?
Again I bring to mind the IT kits. Some support guns have sensors, and some rifle kits have frags. The mod I propose is not anything that Red Storm or whomever has not already done with different guns.
On a sarcastic note, I can't imagine how the FAL or AN94 if given frags could really be a threat to your all-powerful OICW/sensors kit.

it was a mistake when they made Ghr i heard, they made all the kits with binocs and later changed this, this is why in sp u dont get sensors, u get binocs whereas multiplayer u get the sensors...they just missed a couple of kits thats all.
the FN-FAL even with sensors i still wouldnt use, and the AN94 has the grenade laucnher but should have sensors. All the binoculars should have been replaced with sensors for multiplayer. Rifleman in Ghr dont get frags they get nades.

Be that as it may, i think people are more against distribution of sensors than frag grenades. Yes, there are frags in rifle kits, not in ghr or ds, but in IT.
Well I don't see any real support for this. I thought I had a good idea that could improve the game, but if no one is receptive then I won't bother. I just wish Mauti or someone with a bit of clout had offered their opinions.

It's not as though this would be hard to do. A server-side mod which just affected those four kits which have binoculars would be less than 1K compressed. To be in keeping with the "standard" GhR weapons, the two Rifleman kits which now have binocs should be updated to have sensors, and the two support kits which have binocs should be updated to have claymores. Each rifleman weapon which comes in more than one configuration has a kit with sensors, and each support gun has a kit with claymores. In the case of the weapons which have binocular kits, the sensor/claymore kit is missing, thus suggesting that a sensor/claymore kit is what should be in that slot.
Not that any of this would make a difference. The OICW and OICW/GL would still be the only rifleman weapons used in CBs. They're the best rifleman guns in the game, because the game is unbalanced. I'd like to see the kits fixed, because stupid bugs like that annoy the hell out of me, but I don't think that it would change anything in actual play.
<shameless plug>Now, the |MP| Mod makes GhR nice and balanced.</shameless plug> : D
