You are a retard. Form your own damn opinion about a game after you play it, dumbass.
Seriously...Ghost Recon is 50x better than Rogue Spear...the only people who play Rogue Spear are those with no skills and only rely on Spray and Pray techniques.

First off, I agree with Sin that Snipey's a dumbass for forming an opinion of a game he's never played.

Secondly, Assassin, my average game at Rogue Spear ( 4v4 ) is about 2 kills, 75% shooting, 8 shots fired. That's not spray & pray.

Ghost Recon is a game of campers. In my opinion, at any game, anyone who spends more than 3 seconds standing still, is a camper. In Ghost Recon, the only kind of shots that you can hit are ones where you're standing still, or ones where you're sidesteping. I'd say about 90% of the times that I die at Ghost Recon, it's to someone who is standing still.

When I see a non camping game of Ghost Recon ( like our LAN games here ), all that it is, is who can either crouch down, and get shots off first, or who can sidestep and get shots off first.

Aside from just the camper based game play, there are other lame things about Ghost Recon:

Let's start with the reticules. First off, I can hit a running shot, in full combat gear ( all my football shit, and all my ski shit ( including boots, but excluding helmet ), better than my "Elite" Ghost Recon character.

The next lame thing about the reticules: When you fire a 3 round burst from an M16, all of the shots are going to land at almost the same spot. In Ghost Recon, they will all land in different places. Same with all 3 round burst guns.

Second lame thing: When you kill someone, it tells you that you've killed them. If you're going for a realistic game, why throw this in? With an SA80 against a sniper, you often can't see them enough to tell if you've killed them or not, but of course, Ghost Recon tells you whenever you get a kill.

Third lame thing: The whole single player setup.

1.) Combat Points.

2.) Specialists.

1.) As a sniper, who sits back the whole time, you're not going to gain any "endurance" durring your mission.

2.) You're an elite team. You're going to have access to the best weapons possible the whole time. You won't have to earn them by doing good in combat.

Overall, Ghost Recon is a very realistic game, but they threw in some things that ruin it:

??Bullshit Reticules.

??Respawns.

??Combat Points.

? Specialists.

It's a simple fact, that in real life, the snipers are going to have better luck than the assaulters. However, in my opinion, and the opinion of lots of others, that doesn't make for fun gameplay.

Yeah, I gotta try out JK2 one of these days, I've heard good things about it.

I love MOH, it is one of the best games out there. Lag free deticated server game play, exellent maps, good graphics, and fast paced action.

Another great game is RTCW, but it has some stupid things about it, like the jumping, and how fast you can run.

If/when Raven Shield comes out for mac, I will likely buy it, but from my experiences at it, I hate the reticules. Most likely I will move away from the Tom Clancy line of games, and go towards other action games.

Have you tried hitting a running shot in full combat gear, Typhy? Use a paintball gun, wear all the crap, hot foot it, and try to land a hit on a man-sized target from somewhere around 20-30 meters (a fairly close GhR encounter). It's harder than RS makes it look. In all seriousness, it's not that GhR's guys are unrealistically inaccurate, it's that RS's guys are unrealistically accurate (plus, it helps that they're basically strolling at their top speed, as opposed to GhR's actual run).

Hit it at 25 meters with a Steyr Aug airsoft.

Lothario, in GHR, you can't hit a running shot half the time at 10 feet.

Rogue Spear's reticules are a tiny bit extreme, but not very. Rainbow Six's running reticules are exellent.

You're an elite team, you've trained your whole life, you're going to be able to hit a running shot from 15 feet away.

Why do we always have to argue bout which game is better? Assassin, your ass was a good rogue spear player...so tell me, ?Did you have any skills, or were you a typical spray and pray noob?? The games are totally fuckin different and based on DIFFERENT THEMES! RS is a Swat based tactical cqb game. Ghr is a  military unit out in the jungle or wherever they are, so of course you arent gonna be runnin full speed poppin shots off, in real life your ass would camp in the hills also. Don't even try to compare them, it's ridiculous to try and defend one over the other, it's all personal opinion.

Okay. First off, Typhy, how many shots did it take you to actually hit the target? Not that I'm doubting your physical abilities, and I'm not ragging on your age at all, but I don't think 13 year old wearing full combat gear and running at full speed can hit much of anything. Hell, I'm 17, and I can't do that. Think about it(and this is just a guesstimation): You're wearing about 120+ pounds of equipment on your back, plus you're holding a 7 pound rifle, all the while running at full speed, and trying to keep a steady aim. You would have to be a damn good marksman to hit a target, and not to mention being in top physical condition. Your whole body is bouncing up and down, your gun is shaking around, you'd have to time your shots very, very well. Most of the time you aren't running on even, flat terrain. Sand and grass is shifting around, and you're going over little bumps and stuff, plus you have to watch out for things to trip on. Now, most of the time, you aren't even going to be running at all if you're clearing the inside of a building. You're going to be doing a pretty fast walk, but not running. Now, as for GhR. GhR is not a camping game. I've never seen anyone stay in one spot the whole game. Even snipers move around quite a bit. There's much more strategy involved in GhR than in RS. You can't just grab any old gun and use it on every single map, you have to do a tiny bit of planning. In RS, everyone just runs around with a PDW, and as soon as they find someone, they're sidestraffing and running around them in circles. Whooowee, that happens all the time in reallife. Everyday on the news, I hear about SWAT Teams raiding a druglord's house, then ending up dancing with the armed enemies until they're lucky enough to finally kill them.

Yes, I was good...and I also didn't use PDW's, I used my trusty G36K with a three round burst  Grin.

Around the time I quit RS altogether, the only weapon in use was the PDW. THe PDW has a ridiculous reticule, is way too powerful, and is the perfect spray and pray weapon. To top it off, the game is extremely old and can no longer possible be fun. It was so old that I remember Oso going around and hunting people with a dragunov or a barret assault style because the game was no longer a challenge. WHen a game is that old (I admit it was damn fun for its time, but it doesn't hold a candle to a good ghost recon game)

Now my comments on Ghost Recon were based on my experiences with the game, and  based on comments here, most Mac Ghost Recon players are campers, and that is a damn shame. Ghost Recon can be an excellent game with minimal camping if you people played in half decent clans with half decent tactics. There is apparently a whole other side of the game that none of you have bothered experiencing.

Oh well, this point is moot for me. In a month from now, I will be tearing it up in Raven Shield.

As for Typhy saying he could hit a taarget while moving, you are so full of shit. I guarantee that you couldn't even hit the target without any armor on.

We are all entitled to our own opinions, and my original one came from the fucktard snipey who was basing his without even playing the game....Thank God that moron is banned for a week.

I love ghost recon and rogue spear.  They are 2 different types of games.  Here are some things in my opinion.

          Rogue Spear
Good
?Fast games for more playing time
?Not as much sniping and camping
?A challenge as to different people's reactions and aiming.

Bad
?Takes a lot of hits a kill a guy sometimes.
?Hbs is all bs to me
?Has lag issues

          Ghost Recon
Good
?Realistic graphics
?1 shot 1 kill
?A challenge to find guys in bushes

Bad
?Campers city
?Not able to block sensors
?Big lag maps

Over all i think ghost recon is much better.  I love either game however.  Ghost recon is very realistic, its a challenge, and very fun.  It involves a lot of teammwork.  The maps are incredible and well made.  I love rushing and sniping.  Ghost recon provides both if you know how to do them.  Sometimes people hate a game they arent good at.  Others just hate it period.  I love them both.  Grin

I agree with Nighthawk's points, but I hate Ghost Recon.

Well Sin, myself, and many others like Rogue Spear, and find it extremely fun. You're obviously not in a position to argue this if you can't see the other side's arguments.

Sad, but true. I personaly think that any newbie who uses a PDW is quite dumb. Right now, there is only one person in this community who uses a PDW, that I can't beat, and it's KoS Silvio.

When you go up against someone with a PDW, you'd better be better with it than them, or you're going to lose. It's the same way with any gun, if both you and your oponent are using it.

When I see that someone has a PDW, I think "Good, I know I can beat them easily". But, when someone has a gun other than the PDW or MP5A4, they're much more of a challenge. If you're going to use a PDW, and be good with it, you have to be one of the best with it. With less used guns, it's easier to be one of the best with them, and they can focus on the weakness of a gun like a PDW, which is it's lack of power.

I would just like to say, that I've had some amazingly fun 3v3 LAN games at Ghost Recon. In such games, if a person camps, you can walk over to them, and put them in great ammounts of pain.  [/color]

Typhy you need to get a taste of realism.

Find a PC and play some Raven Shield (the single player demo)

You'll see that the PDW is great in CQB but your lucky if you hit anything beyond 50 feet. This is realistic. RS is not. In RS the PDW is a laser beam of death. You put it on anything on the screen at any distance and hold down the trigger.

Running and shooting doesn't work at all. As I mentioned it in my Army report it is almost impossible to hit something while you run.

Even our instructors, who are practicing this since few years, didn't hit targets within 30metres. If you run on a street I guess it will be a bit better but on rough no chance.

At our trench combat exercises we had to rush into the trench system. While we were running we shot the first bullets so the enemy puts their heads down then we stand crouched and shot him while he put his head up again to repeat fire. Our instructors laughed at us that we didn't hit them while we were running.

We asked they should show us their skills. -> 3 instructors were running towards the same target(30metres range) firing each 30 shots and nothing muhahahaha - all 90 bullets failed their aim. They didn't find it that fun so we had a nice gas alert for 30minutes, bah, bad losers...

Bye,

Mauti
