Loth, your right about the 9700 Pro

I was having a chat with loth and bucc the other day about graphics cards, and loth was right when he said that the Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB has not been released for the mac yet, eventhough you can get it as an added upgrade to your order like I did.

So now, I am getting the stock 9000  that comes with my dual 1.25ghz g4, and have the store credit to get the 9700 Pro 128 when it comes out.

Anyone know when the Radeon 9700 Pro 128Mb will be released for the Mac?

Well thats pretty stupid dest that it doesnt come with it if its a package deal.  Did u have to pay for the Radion 9000 card? Cuz if you did thats pretty dumb, I mean how did you find out about the fact that the comp you ordered didnt come with the 9700.  Did you find out through someone else?  Cuz if you did, was the store that you bought yer comp from, would they have told you? while in the meantime your thinking that you had the 9700 in yer comp the whole time.

It's like this (atleast it was like this for a friend of mine), you get the older car installed at first and then when the card you really wanted (in this case the 9700) actually ships for mac, you'll get it in the mail and you'll end up having two cards instead for the price of only the 9700, pretty good deal if you ask me

When the 9700 does come out, I get it sent to me right away b/c it's paid for already.

Hah, to bad your G3 doesn't have a AGP 4x slot, you'd need better than a Digital Audio G4 in order to use the the radion 9000.
You should just sell it and buy a few sticks of ram

_and_ you don't need an AGP 4x slot to use the radeon 9700.  you can even use the card in a AGP 1x slot, although its slower then.

Hey, Destructo,
    I was wondering where you ordered your dual 1.25 from, because I know that the Apple Store I work at doesn't even offer it as an upcoming bundle, and the Apple online store won't even let you continue if you select it as an option.

    Either way, if you have already paid the $300 standard Apple upgrade price and get both the 9000 and 9700, like they did when Apple firsted released the GF4Ti, you are one lucky guy.
