Island Thunder

I copy the Island Thunder Mod folder from PC to Mac, and it works (with the mac 1.4 version).  Some of the trees looked messed up (red and transparent).  But other than that, it works fine.  I know that in PC, Island Thunder actually modify some of the the core files (in the original mission).  I guess that's why some models are screwed up.  My PC friend actually find out which files are changed.  But I guess I am not risky enough to replace those files just to make Island Thunder perfect.

A lot of home brewed MOD works much better in version 1.4 as well (e.g. Bunker).  It is a must have.  I do have to use a virgin copy of ghost recon in order to have the 1.4 patch works.

I think there's certain copyright restrictions on this. Technically, if Mauti uploaded it, it would be considered warez. I think Mauti wants us to buy the expansion, and then use the instructions on how to make it work on Mac.

would it be possible to make a tutorial or patch for installing Island thunder on mac? similar to the patches for black thorn and covert ops maybe..you would still have to have a copy of the PC version to play.
while we are on the topic: does anyone know whether playing it on gameranger would result in a ban (like with bt)?

you wouldnt even have to play it on gameranger. go to www.ghostrecon.com and there is a list of dedicated servers all playing IT.

I thought IT was just another mod. In anycase I plan on getting it one way or another.

Thank you very much for this link. Indeed some very interesting points especially for me who almost never uses MacOSX. The most MacOSX only conversions I did are pretty senseless because they have the same missing textures as we MAcOS9 user. I gonna contact iWorks and may they can build a Carbon version of GhR that supports longer filenames than 32letters.
