Official "State of the Union Comments" Thread

Please leave any and all pro con, or indifferent statements about the State of the Union address here. Personally, I thought it was ok until the part where he said that Congress should pass a law banning all human cloning. BS I TELL YOU! BS!

Bush is a dumbass. He is proposing a Tax Cut that will take away BILLIONS of revunue from government coffers right before he is to launch us into a war with Iraq while we are still in Afghanistan. Tax Cuts and a two front war is not a good thing for the economy. By the end of the decade according to some donkey from Washington we will be in 1 Trillion dollars in deficit. That is most likley an exagerated figure, but we will be close to it. To those that think that the tax cut will be helpful to the defence budget have to be retards (sorry ace). I do agree on his medical malpractice reform as long as it lowers are expenisve medical system.

America has an expensive medical system? I thought you guys had a pretty cheap one since everyone has to buy their more advanced medical help themselves.

Again...Presidents have nothing to do with the economy!!!! They can only introduce plans that will aid it and then Congress votes on it. Greenspan (who controls economic standards) has the real power of the economy. He and his team come up with an economic plan and then put it into action. HE MADE A SHITTY PLAN. Why? Because he doesn't like Bush. So when the economy goes to hell...bush gets blamed. FUCKING A!!!! People...the constitution doesn't give power to the President to control every aspect of our lives. IT'S TOO MUCH POWER!!!!! That's why its divided into cabinets, organizations, etc. etc.  
GET THAT THROUGH YOUR THICK HEADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I said that he does Kami....try reading the post. Greenspan is the one who has total control. The president can only introduce plans that change or help the economy. They have to go through congress first.

He introduces dramatic, I mean these just arent small scale shits here, this is on large mutha fucking tax cut. Then he will go conduct war in/on two countries at once. Thus leaving the treasury bankrupt, lack of economic progress ensues. Greenspan contols intrest rates for the most part.

You know the same thing happened with George I. Much of it happened because he reduced funding to the government while spending a fortune in the Gulf War.

i'm not gonna say anything on the SOTU because most of it would be redundant of things i have already posted here. instead i thought i'd include some links to some of my favorite daily political blogs which all have something interesting and original to say about the SOTU:

bushes tax refund plan is the thing that confused me, why is it that the rich people that make 300k/year end up paying less money percentage on taxes then the people that make 50k/year?
i would think that it'd be the other way around. you know the rich people spend MORE money on taxes then the..... less rich people.

What I don't understand is the two front war like Cossack said. I have a small history background (being only in 9th grade) but war is supposed to boost the economy, but why go into two expensive wars that require us to ship our troops all over the world? My main concern is that we go into too many wars and divide our troops so many times that we just keep losing and eventually we are out of funds for wars and have to hope that other countries like England will bail us out.
