if safari does auto update, that would be very cool. but dont things like that normally request access first? that's how they structured software update, so i dont see why this would be different

Safari is good, however i had to take that damn metalic look off (http://homepage.mac.com/farmerjeb/safari.jpg) Safari is so fast because it caches items and then hogs shitloads of ram after you've been using it for a extended period. That is a definate problem with the program.

As for the iApps...
IE sucks anyways, use a mozilla browser

Safari, definatly has potential but lacks tabbs ( a tab is a way of having multiple windows open in the same window if that makes any sense)  this is the father of the tabbed revolution http://multizilla.mozdev.org/

Itunes is the best there is, i can never get used to audium, especialy because i'd have to rebuild playlists and it doesn't suport the ipod.

iChat is truely horible, Adium is a much better alternative, its even a tabbed chat app. Its so great to have clutter minimized into one window, especialy when your chatting with 5 or 6 people

Mail, works good, does not work with hotmail or yahoo by default but that can be changed by various opensourced mail proxies out there.

If you want to talk about speed issues... iTunes hangs for a bit when i load my playlists with over 2000 songs on them (i have 4,400 mp3s in total. or 18 days of music Grin )

What i truely love about osX is the avalible open source software, especialy because apple released X11 and now open office will be perfect replacement for apple works.

Another Safari problem is that it can't see certain scriptings and letters. For example, if I typed "?", on IE it would look like that but on Safari it looks like "?". An example of scripting is the move script. If I did
"IF YOU SEE THIS YOU ARE NOT USING SAFARI" then on IE it would move but on Safari it wouldn't.

I'm pretty sure Safari will have more scripting support once it's out of beta, Flame.  And the move command is proprietary to IE. . .there are several such commands that only IE recognizes at this point.  However, what did you type?  I only saw two question marks. . .

Safari supports all letters that I'm aware of ??

The really wierd thing is that Safari is back to logging me out of the forums anytime I click on a new thread. Also I found that it really doesn't like my banks web banking site. the main page loads super fast and the JS rollovers are ready almost instantly. However when I log in to check my account I get the usual "please wait while..." and nothing happens.

For a beta browser from a company with almost no web browser experience, Safari kicks ass. And as soon as it can do what I want with out any problems, I'll only use the other browsers on my comp for testing.

Uh i typed "?" or "..." as one key, opt+'. Also another bug in Safari is that whenever I try to log into Hotmail, it says I don't have Javascript enabled, but I do.
