Why dodge bullets when you can just suck 'em all in!??

« on: December 31, 2002, 05:02:44 am »

I have a question with UO and how 3 of my uniforms dont appear- well, *DAMN told me to download one of your UO uniform mods- I did (SWAT mod) and I see that you have the same problem I have now- If you go into singleplayer and play RS or UO missions (or classic r6), you will see that the first 3 uniforms are missing. Can you help me out with this problem (you may not be able to fix it since it happened to you Shocked Wink )

I have never seen this problem with one of my mods, is it possible you have installed a mod previously which altered one of the original mission files or a similar file? That's the problem with mods which overwrite files buddy, can't ever tell what will happen later on. I suggest a clean install and start over. SWAT should work the same with ALL missions and all mission mods, regardless. Wink

Hey,
I'm not trying to be mean or anything Grin, but just as a modder to a modder, your mod does have the problem- I haven't done anything. I have a skin mod, exactly the same as yours and yours does the same problem. However, you may not notice it, since I almost missed it myself. Just do the following and see for yourself:

1. Play UO and activate your SWAT mod
2. Go into your "Loner" (or single player)
3. Play any mission campaigns either in RS, classic R6, or UO
4. When you get to the screen to select your skins, you notice that the first 3 are missing

-If you go into ANYTHING else, then the 3 uniforms are there (the first 3 uniforms on the list are the ones that don't appear)

I am positive i know why this occured, since I made a backup of the mission files. However, when UO was installed the mission files were someone overridden, becuase when I put the backup missions files in, the 3 uniforms appeared. So, unless you've altered or put the original mission files back in, the first 3 uniforms won't appear. To fix this, you would have to make mission files that override files, but then, the mod would, override files Angry

I hope this small problem can be solved, unless no one else really cares, then I'll release my mod with that problem.

The difference is, SWAT contains an example of each of the essential mission files, that's how the operatives are added. Same thing with all RS mods which add operatives.

Hey, im sorry, but, I was confused about that last post Huh, lol.
You said something about mission files, but none were in the mod, nor actor files for new operatives. But, do you know how to solve the problem?

(for some reason, I feel as if the choice of words I am using sounds mean, but, I'm not trying to be, coco)

ahhh wait I was thinking of HKITD and US TAC, SWAT didn't have operatives. Operatives require 3 mission files to be present. As far as the error, has anybody else seen this? There's no provision for any difference when adding uniforms for lone wolf, it's all the same files used (uniforms, sideswatch, and, um, that other one I can't remember). The order can be arranged in a weird way depending on what you have activated, but otherwise, I don't really know.

Well, I noticed that if you "disable uniforms" then it works, so, Raven,

do this:
1. make sure the "disable original uniforms" is NOT selected (meaning both coco's and Rainbow uniforms will appear)
2. Go into a custom mission and play- record the FIRST 3 COCO uniforms (CV SWAT camo, CV SWAT sniper, and CV SWAT black)
3. Now, go into single player and resume a campaign (or practice a campaign)
4. Now notice that those first 3 uniforms are missing!

I'll post some pics, in next post...

Tell me if you notice this Raven!

by the way, only in "practice mission" do the uniforms disappear- ANYTHING else (lone wolf, terrorist hunt, assualy, recon, etc., the uniforms show up)

proof:

play anything except single player (coco's loner)- practice mission, resume campaign:

Now, if you play "loner" practice mission or resume campaign- where'd the first 3 go?:

My mod does the same thing- I think the mission files have something to do with it.
