Why dodge bullets when you can just suck 'em all in!??

« on: December 24, 2002, 03:27:23 am »

Hey, all my mods I've been making have been for Rogue Spear. However, I've noticed that the other mods seem to be for Rogue Spear: Urban Operations- is that becuase no files are overriden (they are installed into a mod folder or something). I don't have UO, so I don't know anything. Sad
Also, if I want my skins to work for UO, do I have to do any special converting from the RS format to UO???

~Thanks

Rigid,

UO was an expansion pack for Rogue Spear, UO supported MODS by allowing them to run concurent with RS in a folder of their own, without overwriting any of the original files.

I'm sure one of the guys can ehlp you with a file layout, but I'm pretty sure it consists mostly of creating a folder named after your mod, and includung the smae folders and files you are going to put your files in for RS. Seems too simple, I am sure I missed something.   Probably gave you more questions then answers.   Huh Huh Huh

No, your answers helped. Grin

But basically, if I were planing to make a mod, I should make it for UO, and I should get the game to make sure I get the folder names correctly and such. So, if there is no other converting, like .CRP files for uniforms or anything, then I'll just get the game.

Thanks for the help Grin

I would imagine that Coco or the guys could help you with folders, but apart from that, UO is definitely worth the purchase!!!

Besides, if you buy UO, you an download all of teh Dtd_pro team mods. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

i dont know if this will help but:
in all uniform mods IVe got theres a main folder named like your mod which has a:
"bitmap" folder: has the .rsb files in it
"character" folder which contain folders with the uniform name and those contain: the .rsb textures and the .tga , .jbf , .crp
"kit" folder with .itm and .eq and sidewatch
a "text" folder whitch contains a folder named "kit" kit contains "ENGLISH" and those have the uniform discriptions that apear when you choose a uniform to play with

and the last thing in the main folder is a .txt file called "ModsContents".
It has this in it:

// Mods Contents
NAME?Huh??"Name of the mod"
AUTHOR?Huh??"Anyone"
SUPPORT?Huh??"http://www.whatever.com/"
VERSION?Huh??"1000.1 <- whatever"
MULTIPLAYER???"Server-Client or Server"

hope i could help (probably not)
have a nice christmas

Dont worry Raven, I know what folders I need and stuff, just that now, my problem is, I need to GET UO Grin Then, I can see for myself if I need to convert anything. If not, I'll just release my mods for UO, and not just plain Rogue Spear. (since there's no file overrideing in UO).
