The new AgT site...

Hey guys and girls, We just released the new site and were wondering how you like it. Not all the links are working
at this time and the site is only about 85% operational, but we would like some input before we make it final. So lemme
have it, the good and the bad.

btw: this site is not 56k friendly

ok.. first off, I can't skip the intro until it has fully loaded. try putting a standard image ling at the bottom instead of the flash one that you have jump to the end =D

second, it takes a while to load even on my cable. The top banner alone is 147k. You can compress that stuff down s'more without losing any quality, so please do.

third, the smashed skill animation is a little chunky scaled down.

fourth, the headers for the link areas on the left have their shadows cut off by their shape, looks kinda chunky.

fifth, on the profile page, set the background of the top row of each member profile, the one with teh tab thing ticking up, to transparent so the little grid patter shows through.

sixth, on the profile page, the images that contain the text are smash-scaled, which adds more to the chunky look.

seventh, the rounded corner that you have in the top-left corner of the content area doesn't quite roudn it off, and it's black background covers over the grid pattern. Make it into a gif and set that color to transparent, and maybe make a more rounded one.

eighth, set the main background color too the lighter grey so it blends in better with the navbar: I have a dark grey border all around the entire page.

ninth, when you ling to the forums, have it open up in a new window without you banner at the top, it just smashes the forum window too small.

mmm.. that's all for now... more to come. Right now it gets a "It's ok" grade.

I dont' have time to go over all of it right now, so I'm just curious about the intro.

How did you make the intro?  It's interesting, but the images are very blurry.  For 1.1mb, you could probably make something in a better format.

The intro is interesting indeed but it's also kinda lame.
Capt already pointed out all the bugs that I weren't going to point out anyway so good job capt!  
I don't like the layout/colors and all that really so it's a ?I don't like it?-mark. But that's just me.

Nice the site looks great, the only layout I didnt like was the Rogue Spear team layout. I think it should be like the GhR battle team, if your going to do that i am sorry for this comment. The site is great besides.

thx guys for the comments, good and bad, its exactlyl what i wanted. Just keep in mind there  will be alot of changes and modifications in the next couple days. Your comments will help us with that.

lmao, Cap, i new you would be the most helpful but everything you pointed out I knew about and am trying to fix. Keep in mind I am no webdesinger and not bad for a non-webdesigner

I must say, I'm disapointed, I always enjoyed the AgT sites, but now I pissed off dumbass Deadeye, so he took it upon himself to ban me from the site.

YOU WANT BAD COMMENTS VOODOO?? HUH HUH??!?!? ok, well, i think capt summed it up nicely, but theres a couple things that i personally disliked. 1) take off margins, so the title and menu images are right up against the side and top of the window (in dreamweaver, its under page properties, just set them all to 0 [you should use dreamweaver (it's sexy)]).
thats all i have, besides the fact that the green and the grey isnt too sexy for me.

and with the flash flash video in the begining, im presuming he converted a video to quicktime and imported it in flash (correct me if im wrong). if thats the case, it might be a better idea to make it into a streaming video format, like MPEG4 (dunno if thats for mac though..) for better quality and size.

Typhy, lemme talk to Buc and Deadeye. I didnt know that. I want to make sure everyone is welcome to our site. Banning someone from his site is one thing but banning ppl so that they cant join a site that there hosting isnt right.

Unfortunaly I am unable to see the site with IE or Mozilla. It needs endless to load and finally I see a white page. After looking at the source code it should load a frame however it doesn't. Someone else having this troubles? I had the same troubles with Macclans... hmmm. Typhy maybe you have the same problem.

Oh thanks Viper.  Anyone know how to make video of computer scenes though?  'Twould be cool.

Anyway, bronto is wrong.  He keeps telling everyone to get rid of margins, and frankly I think that looks bad. . .there should be a buffer between the generic Mac window panes and your website border.

Dreamweaver is nice though.

    In the state that the site is currently in it looks really good. One thing that I think should be switched up a little besides what others have mentioned is the RS division site as it pertains to this new site. I'm sure that in the infancy of the new GhR division site you just linked to a slightly updated version of the old site.
    I think that if you have the time, or desire, you should set up the RS division to closely resemble the GhR division with maybe just the RS color sceme. I think it would giv the site as a whole a little more cohesiveness.
    Other than that, I think the new Agent GhR division site looks really good.

the banner has been compressed and should load faster now. We are working on that skip button. I think im just gonna have to put it outside the .swf file in a cell of its own. I am also working on a new banner for the forum section at about 1/4 of the pixels that the one there is now so that the page wont look so scruntched up.

i'm not shure what everyone else was talking about with  load times and all that. it started flew along just fine fore me (although that could be because i'm sharing the college lan with only about 50 ppl instead of the usual 500)
