Well I shouldn't really talk about consoles since I don't have anything but a SNES, and I'm not planning on buying a new one in the close future, it's just hard to avoid console news with a guy like kuran in your clan.

xbox live owns, plain and simple. i mean, hell, its a known fact that nintendo its depending on metroid prime as its main source of income this holiday season. and as far as the ps2 goes.. can anyone say "grand theft auto?" on the other hand, microsoft is depending on xbox live, as well as other games (such as splinter cell). there is already a handful of xbox live games available, which means there are plenty of new quality titles to choose from. like, one of my friends baught metroid prime and beat it already. i have to admit the game is awesome, but when its over, its over. you cant get online and be faced with the challenge of real intelligence. and in the hardware department, its obvious xbox is a better deal. who wants to drop an extra $150 on an ethernet adaptor and an external hardrive for an already obsolete system (coughps2cough). lets see... how about... nobody. here, ill save some of you the hastle of bitching about good graphics being unequal to good games by doing it for you:

well, i believe this boils down to the xbox live thing again. the graphics own, and it as addictive as crack. amen.

GC has some kind of Radeon, not sure which model, and Xbox has a GeForce3.

Hmm, and XBox Live.... so what are you going to talk about when PS2 and NGC both have online play as well?

What's the point of buying an XBox that has this DVD player if you already have one.... Another thing about Xbox, IS IT BIG ENOUGH? I LIKE BIG CONTROLLERS AND A BIG BOX THAT MAKES IT EASY FOR ME TO CARRY IT TO MY FRIENDS HOUSES AND HOOK UP.

  XBox live is okay. I wouldnt say go buy a XBox becouse of it. I do play some games like SOCOM and etc. online but theres always my Mac.   And my PC...

About the games. I was told by my little brother that Microsoft bought Rockstar. For all you PS2-noobs out there, Rockstar is the company that makes the GTA series games. So that may be one less advantage for Sony.
I deeply hate Microsoft. Even more than George W. Bush jr.
They are too big, as demonstrated by their ability to just buy their way into the console market. And now (if what my brother said is true) the takeover of Rockstar, this could be bad business.

And when are the gonna fucking port Halo to mac?

Jeb... Splinter cell is definatley not on PS2. It is an xbox only game.

Right now Xbox has the best top notch games coming out. With the combination of mechassualt, unreal championship, and splinter cell, where can you go wrong ? Those 3 games are xbox only.

Also... Xbox has the best online setup, better then when ps2 and GC come out with their own. The online abilities of PS2 is horrifying compared to the simplicity of xbox live. Also.... all game work with the headset microphone in xbox live, unlike PS2 which it only works for Socum if I believe right....

Sure the Xbox is the most powerfull gaming system, however the sales figures are shitty. The Xbox program is being scaled down already (i should know i test games over there). MS wants to make money off the Xbox which they haven't had a chance to yet. Part of that reason is the Xbox is much to expensive for them to sell at 200$ and make profit. All the games that are released on Xbox go dirrectly thru MS, and microsoft takes a big chunk of the profits from the developer. Not to many software developers would want to make a game on the Xbox.

If you look at the PS2, its much more 3rd party oriented, sony's comitment to the 3rd party developers is why there are so many PS2 games out there. The playstation attacts more developers because more people own a PS2, and  sony licenses their media for cheap.
No one will deny that the Xbox has more bells and wistles, but sony will win the battle.

The only reason the Xbox is somewhat failing is because there are people like yourself, everywhere, making the xbox sound shitty. Then poeple are scared to buy the system because of what you write, and then it creates a cycle. You make it sound like the xbox will die like the dreamcast did, therefore people are hesitent to buy and go buy another system. If everyone bought systems completley on qualifications then the xbox would be doing much better.

And in regards to people saying that xbox is like a computer..... microsoft said that they will not be making a keyboard for online play... proving yet again, you shouldnt be comparing xbox to a computer. Just because Microsoft makes PC's doesn't mean automatically it is one.

Just for the record, microsoft doesn't make pc's, they make the software, the xbox is like a computer because it's built like one with the same basic structure.

WHO SERRIOUSLY GIVES A SH*T ABOUT GAME SYSTEMS GOD USE YOUR MAC AND SHUT UP OK xbox costs to much and its big and who cares about "xbox live" your just playing with some nerd or a hillbilly. gamcube is for little kids or 27 year olds who have the mind of one. PS2 is ok because of GTA3 and GTA3:VC. So how cares just play your "game system" in most peoples minds they are equal and if not just play on your mac.
